He helps Batman, he's sort of like a cop sidekick.

It's contrived and silly as hell but Blake knows EXACTLY who Bruce is at the very beginning. Bruce talks to him like he's his bro and Batman encourages him with things like "wear a mask".

In all seriousness though, he didnt kill them. He set the gunpowder on fire and thats it. Just like Rhas; he didnt kill him. he just had gordon shoot the train support, blew part of the train off and glided away

How much Pittsburgh was in the movie?

There's tons. Pittsburgh and LA are the most prominent in the film. Other than city scapes, stock market, and a few shots on wall street in New York it's mostly Pittsburgh and LA.

Heinz Field, the courthouse steps, suburb shots, Gordon's house, Foley's house, Bane and Batman's final fight, the streets with The Bat, Batpod, Tumblers and HEMTT, some underground, Blake on the streets, alleys, all Pittsburgh.


I tried looking for myself in the shots of cops on the steps. The FAR right. But the scene is only like 30 seconds long.

Wonder if Dark Magic will be able to see himself. Can't wait for a pause feature on Blu Ray/DVD.

So basically, from the spoilers ive read from you DiFabio about blake, theyve pulled an MGS4 on us; Gone too far forward in time, skipped god knows how many years (8 in TDKR), left a load of back story out, and really, they shouldve had a 3rd film which will then lead onto TDKR?

Saw it last night and have been thinking about it ever since. I loved it, as a film. As the final chapter to Nolan's series it is fantastic. That said, knowing these characters through the comics as long as I have, I disagree with some choices the 2 main characters of this trilogy (Batman and Alfred) make. For me, Batman would never have given up the fight after Dent's death. And a decision Alfred makes early on I would never see Alfred doing. Just out of character in my opinion.

It really felt like Nolan definitely decided that this was going to be the least comic book inspired of his films. The look, the story, nothing about it (save the bomb I guess) felt like a Batman film.

But I am still digesting it and am seeing this again on IMAX tomorrow afternoon. Sometimes it takes a couple of viewings for me to form a strong opinion on a film I have been waiting feverishly for.

What I did like? Joseph Gordon Levitt's John Blake. He is the Harvey Dent of this movie and provides us a voice in this film. I loved his character and would be down for a movie about him. It is not a flashy role at all but JGL shows such conviction in this character that I believe what happens to him by the films end. The acting across the board is fantastic and everyone did a great job. Michael Cain is criminally underused but when he is in it, he made my eyes tear up a couple of times. I did believe what Alfred was going through.

And Bale is so freaking great this time around!!!!! Not kidding, Bale did so much outside the cowl this time and that is where he shines. And Gary Oldman is once again so fantastic as Gordon.

I guess the thing I liked most about the film is I was really rooting for the good guys to defeat Bane in this film. Bane is a monster and I was really rooting for Batman, Gordon and Blake to succeed in defeating his plan. Nolan and his actors have the stakes raised in this film, and never in a comic book movie have I wanted so badly for the films heroes to win. Because it did actually feel like this was happening. Which is the reason Nolan's realistic vision of Gotham succeeds especially in this film.

Sorry for the disjointed semi review of the film. Too tired and need to see it again to have a better analysis of it. It feels the least like a Batman film, but I think that could be why it is so effective in making me root for the story to have a positive ending. Begins is still my favorite right now. TDKR feels like an ending to the established story, but takes the story in a direction that I did not see coming and maybe once I come to terms with that my opinion of it will be raised.

Yeah, thats annoying. I always expected dent to be paralysed or something. Never understood how Maroni survived a fall like that, Batman did, but Dent died.....

So it seems most of the complaints, weak villain, too little time as Batman, and pretty much a remake of BB, are essentially exactly what people are panning Amazing Spiderman for. Except add to that Gotham looks nothing like Gotham because as Nolan admitted in an interview, he didn't want it to, and now Batman just kills people and doesn't really want to be or act anything like Batman.

Basically exactly what I've been saying and expecting all along, I'm sure it will be a well directed film w/ nice cinematography, but as a Batman movie it sounds awful.

Yeah. I was more engaged with TDKR than I was with TASM, even with how clunky and odd TDKR ended up being. But everyone is different, that was just me.

Still, I think come this weekend when everyone sees it it's going to split the fan bases of this franchise.

It'll be like the mercenaries vs. the cops.

I'll keep an eye out for you even though I don't know what you look like, I'll just look for what I think a DiFabio should look like.
