Re: <> Avengers - Nick Fury - OMG Photo Review <>

Can we call this one "Loki'd!"? Lol....

Great pix OMG, HT should hire you to go to conventions and set up their stuff. God knows, they need SOMEONE with posin' skillz. :snake

LOL! Nick would be saying at the moment... "Aw _____!" :lol

Re: <> Avengers - Nick Fury - OMG Photo Review <>

Hot Toys is getting lazy. This should have a sculpted neck along with the head. Just like '89 Joker.

But no, they got lazy and greedy & just plop the head on a cheap neck piece and leave the figure with one ugly assed neck seam...which really tarnishes what would've been an excellent figure.

Great pics as always OMG.

Re: <> Avengers - Nick Fury - OMG Photo Review <>

I think headsculpt isn't HT best- the goatee and other facial features look soft and not very good detail/paint ap wise

The sculpt details seem kind of soft, don't they? I thought the same of their Hugo Weaving sculpt that was recently released. I wonder if they changed production over to a process that can make larger quantities but offers poorer quality. There's just something about this and the weaving sculpt that looks mass-produced and more...toyish than their past releases.

Compare to the prototype that had tons of details in the facial hair and even lips:

Yep- SOFT...SS quality I'm afraid..........:gah:

Re: <> Avengers - Nick Fury - OMG Photo Review <>

Thanks to OMG's great pics of Fury and the Red Skull, I think it's safe to say that HT's finished headsculpts are looking inferior to their prototype images.

It used to be the other way around.

But the Weaving and Jackson heads on these production pieces are a definite disappointment.

Glad I passed. Still might pick up the tesseract case, though.

Well said! Amazing pictures, not so amazing figure. I am also glad I passed on this. I think I can easily pick and choose from HT without feeling guilty from now on.

Stunning pics here OMG...even more excited now! Me thinks this will be my birthday present this year ;)

Yeah, something has definitely changed for the worse in their production. Seems they've got with a cheaper method and are probably pocketing the money it's saving them (because they obviously aren't passing the savings onto us). You don't have to go back any farther than Noland to see their previous releases didn't suffer from the same soft, mass-produced look:

:goodpost:
HT using quicker methods on tooling , not finishing it as far as it should be- hence SOFT details........very very bad for a $200 figure.
Does not bode well for other releases.....all in the rush to get more and more out...

Re: <> Avengers - Nick Fury - OMG Photo Review <>

Bought a tesseract (cosmic cube) and case on eBay for $50. All I needed from this figure, looks great but he's no Avenger. Case will look great with Loki.

No love for Fury? You purchased the fun part out of the whole figure.

Got a link to the seller? That's literally all I want from this figure as well

Re: <> Avengers - Nick Fury - OMG Photo Review <>

The softness of the sculpts between prototype and production figure is nothing new at all. They've always been like that.

I think that's why the detail is so sharp and overdone on the prototypes.

Re: <> Avengers - Nick Fury - OMG Photo Review <>

very nice fig. I'll pass, but it looks great!

Compared to their releases in April, it clearly is a new issue. As I illustrated, the softness wasn't present on Noland.
