I have to say his Rocky 1/4 is looking good but HCG is really behind times as far as exclusives and stuff.

thanks again CollectorNC, also how is assembling this is it pretty hard? also are the bow strings something that would dry and snap and break in the future if you leave it in the pulled taught pose, like rubber bands?

Assembly is not hard. He IS heavy as he is solid polystone. I had to "walk" him carefully out of the styrofoam. Also the quiver is polystone (not a great choice) so be careful putting around neck and letting it rub across his back. Don't know about the strings. I assume they would stretch over time. I think that setup could have been a little better for long term posing.

thanks again CollectorNC yeah that's what Im worried about over time what happens if the string snaps and breaks, what is the alternate pose if any you could do then for this?

As Maul said it's not really noticeable. I guess perhaps he did the 12 inch with the machete and was focusing on the bow in the 24 inch one.

I think it was just an oversight, unless you really look for it in the movie, you wouldn't know the knife shows, and if you go by the replica knives, the sheath covers the whole blade. Unless you look at this statue from behind his aim, you won't really see the thing enough to know it's showing or not so it's rather moot that it's missing. The 1/6 statue doesn't have the cross or his watch and I don't think it hurts the piece at all. Is it 100% film accurrate, no, but it is Rambo and a nice depiction.

really wavering on this one.
Wasn't interested because its not PF but this is easily the best statue Hollywood Collectibles has done. The sculpt is awesome, pose is awesome.....gah!

Dear SAB, you posted this a year ago, you really need to get off your butt and grab this one.

Thanks SAB, I came by it in a shop today and this awesome statue is now mine!

:rotfl

A couple of months ago a desperate seller on ebay was trying to sell it for £125 with no luck.:cuckoo:

This is a fantastic statue you would be mad not to pick it up:yess:

Great statue, with a fantastic Stallone likeness. I have one. I don't understand why this statue never gets any love here? It's amazing that it still hasn't sold out.

Yeah I honestly don't get it.
Compare it to say the PF Terminator (300 pages!) or PF Dutch (100+ at pre-order) and this awesome piece only has 20+ pages 18 months after release?

I think it may be because its not 'premium format' (ie. no real clothes). People here just aren't into full statues. I get that....but this piece is just so awesome I had to make the exception.

Part of it is the film, I feel like overall, majority dislikes Rambo 4 and anything with Sly in his old age.

I don't know if I'd say people 'dislike' Rambo 4 ...though I get people prefer the classic look and movies of Rambo 2/3 more.

Personally I think the 4th movie is freaking awesome :D

Rambo 4 is my favorite, I think it's the perfect mix of all the great element of the first 3. It has the powerful story qualities of First Blood, the action of 2 and 3 and the music is just awesome. Thanks to HCG I have a great Rambo 4 collection. The only Rambo 4 thing I don't own and really want, well besides the $1200 Rambo 4 knife replica, would be a 1/6 figure, working on a custom, but one made by a company with more accurracy and more accessories than I can come up with would be awesome, especially Hot Toys as it'd be nice to have a 1/6 collection of Rambo from every film by the same company.

It's not the film. Critics always destroy Stallones movies, but they are generally well received by fans. People apparently do still want to see "old Sly" (myself being one of them) because his movies perform well at the box office.

Well I was referring to people around here. I feel like anytime Rambo 4 or Expendables come up, the majority of chatter is ripping into his being old and not enjoying him as Rambo because of that. I feel like at this site, Rambo is Sly in his prime physical shape from 1-3 and they don't embrace the older version.

Personally, I think Sly in his 60s is still as entertaining and effective in films as he was in his prime, maybe even moreso.

Yeah I keep hoping Hot Toys would do a DX Rambo4 with the deluxe feature being the giant mounted artillery gun and base from the end of the movie !

The gun would be cool, I've already made one incase HT does a figure but doesn't do the gun :).
