I just wish the studios that own the different Marvel superheroes see just how well the Avengers is doing and want to start taking about studio cross overs. I mean there would be tons of red tape I'm sure, but if Sony would like Spider-man be in the Avengers or the Fox the Fantastic Four, you could end up with some epic films. I don't think it would be a problem until they come to the part with who gets what when it comes to the money

The magic word. which is why it will never happen. Sony won't stop making Spider-Man. Fox might loose it's rights to it's properties someday, they might run out of Marvel movies to make by the time Marvel will be ready to redo the Avengers films. I can see that happening and then Marvel can reboot the Avengers project with more characters. It all lies on if Fox sees a profit in keeping the marvel characters.

Was surprised I haven't heard much talk about the score, I thought I was alone on this. Silvestri really did disappoint, especially with the main Avengers theme.

But it was hardly used. I know it was used for the opening title and the end sequence but it was never used or empathized during any of the main scenes in the movie. I do like the track but I myself wouldn't consider it epic. If people heard that they wouldn't all of a sudden go that's the avengers song, it does feel somewhat military generic to me.

to me, this is epic and I wish it's something similar to what we got to avengers. but instead it's a great score attached to a subpar film. It because of this score I even continue to watch this film lol

It was good but not great. I think it's a bit better than most of marvels films but just a notch below Thor. The thing that really makes this a on par film and not a game changer for me is the sound/score. Sound and score ultimately makes or breaks a film for me and this one didn't do anything for me. I'm quite shocked that Alan Silvestri turned in such a generic score for this, really a shame. A few little touches here and there would have taken this from a good film to an EPIC film, but it lacks. Visually and story wise, it's awesome, but it's missing one key component to really set it apart. I liked it, didn't love it, wish I did, but it's worth it to see and I might see it again some day, just left the theater feeling kind of empty about it unfortunately.

Loved Iron Man though, he had my favorite moments.

There was a score? I didn't even realize there was under all the good acting, funny moments, and kick ass action.

It was good but not great. I think it's a bit better than most of marvels films but just a notch below Thor. lol I'll give you the good acting and awesome action, but the sound takes away from the action for me, but I honestly didn't find this film funny. The only thing I laughed at was when Coulsen said "oh, that's what it does" that had me cracking up, but nothing else did

lol but soundtracks are KEY. It's what puts The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo a notch below the social network for me, Social Networks score and sound puts that film in a whole different atmosphere compared to Finchers other work. But I know i'm in the minority that actually puts sound pretty much above all else, it's the use of sound that separates the good from the great.

Alan Silvestri did better work on Captain America than Avengers. I think the WWII period inspired him more than the present day story we have here. The score was OK, but nothing really jumped out at me and it mostly went unnoticed. It wasn't a bad/distracting score or anything, just average. My favorite Marvel Studios score so far has been Patrick Doyle's work on Thor.

I forgot Alan did captain america. That was a decent score, I agree, he's more suited to the military type stuff. He didn't make a bad score, it's just your average affair type stuff. Reminded me a bit of independence days score a little.

The best part of the score for me was when Ironman pumped in some AC/DC while cap and widow showed up to fight Loki in Germany. Wait that's not the score. Bought the score on iTunes and I listened to it before I saw the movie and I have to agree with most. It really wasn't noticeable.

Can't lie, that was my favorite moment of the movie. You heard ACDC and you KNEW what was coming, it had such an impact and then he flew in and helped kick loki's ass. that part gave me goose bumps.

I enjoyed all of that in Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park and Lord of the Rings, and when I think of those movies, the incredible scores begin to play in my head. Same thing happens with Batman '89. Or Jaws. Or Lawrence of Arabia. Or The Godfather. Or Ben-Hur. Or The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Or E.T. Or Back to the Future.

Honestly, and though the Nolancompoops will disagree (I don't want to start a pissing contest here), it's no more or less unforgettable than Zimmer's Batman and that sure as hell didn't hurt the franchise.
