Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I still think Mr. Freeze is overpriced. I'll probably cave and buy him anyway, but I'll feel slightly taken advantage of after.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Totally. It will only be acceptable if Grundy ends up being the same price as the rest. Otherwise he'll prove they can give these all different SKUs and Freeze should have been much cheaper! But if Bane is any indication, its better to bite the bullet now rather than wait for him to go for $100 on ebay later.

When is the next wave due out? Hatter, Catwoman, Riddler, Hush, Detective.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ Yeah, not long to go now! :D Can't wait to get them all, but most especially looking forward to Catwoman and Riddler. Very interested to see what accessories are are going to be included with Hatter too since we've not seen any yet... my guess is a pocket watch at the very least since his hand seems sculpted for one. Not sure what else they could add other than the Batman/bunny mask. A carpet picnic with tea set perhaps? :lol

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

DCD isn't really known to throw in accessories not pictured, so I doubt Hatter comes with anything really, which makes him even more overpriced because of his small size. I hope I'm wrong though.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I think I'm most looking forward to Riddler in the next wave - a figure I've wanted since his profile art in AA, though sadly the AC design isn't quite as good as that. Still, I hope he's a good figure.

Also really looking forward to Hush, he'll probably look awesome in a display with that blowing coat effect. Even just a neutral pose would look cool.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I can think of a good few instances where DCD has shown figures without accessories who then later came with them (in fact, the Arkham Asylum line had a few - Batman was never shown with his Batarang, Scarecrow was never shown with his bag of fear gas and Harley was never shown with the Titan gun - just the cane) so I'd say it was quite likely we'll get some for The Mad Hatter. I'd be very suprised if he didn't come with his pocket watch since his left hand really does look sculpted to hold it.

I'm pretty sure looking at the Hush figure that his guns can be placed into the holsters on his legs, which is a nice touch if that is the case. I'm also really hoping Catwoman's goggles will be moveable - they look like they could be, and they did it with the Hush version so we know it can be done.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Too bad Riddler isnt' coming with his glasses though. Very poor choice on DCD's part.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

How much taller are the Deluxe figures compared to a non-deluxe?

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

^ They all differ in size, depending on the character. Most of the regular figures are between 6-7 inches. In wave 1 of the deluxe figures Mr. Freeze is listed as 7.5 inches and Killer Croc is listed as 9.5 inches.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

I cant wait to get Catwoman and The Riddler.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Yeah, someone who went to toy fair asked and someone from DCD said they were pretty sure he wasn't coming with them.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Without his glasses he is powerless!

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Yeah, someone who went to toy fair asked and someone from DCD said they were pretty sure he wasn't coming with them.
Where did you read that? How reliable is that source? Doesn't sound like it's a straightforward 'no' to the question either.
I'm still convinced they will be added during production of the figure since they're such a big part of the character. As has been the case numerous times with the AA and AC lines, some figures have components to them that aren't shown at all until final production. If the glasses aren't added to Riddler then it's a big shame, but I guess we won't know for certain until release time.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

It was a member here who went to Toy Fair and gathered questions. He said DCD wasn't very helpful or seemed to know anything abotu what was going on :slap

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

Ahh I see...
Can't be nice to take the time going to Toyfair only to be met with less than informative/enthusiastic panels!
But that says to me that it's not a definitive answer then and there's still a good chance Riddler could come with his glasses.

I would honestly find it beyond puzzling if they left out such a glaring omission in a line that has up until now been pretty much dead-on to the game designs. DCD has been extremely faithfull to the character designs so far down to the smallest details, so a big feature like Riddler's glasses seems like a sure thing to me. Anyway, as I said before I guess we can't really know for sure until packaged pics start to surface- but I'm still optimistic they'll be included.

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

There arent panels. Toy Fair isn't a convention. Its not open to the public. Just press and retaielrs. Its just booths with employees there to show off the toys and answer questions. So the fact they didn't think he would come glasses makes me think they haven't seen any for him at any time and that he won't come with them. Especially since they looked like production samples at the show too. :dunno

Re: Batman: Arkham City - DC Direct - Series 1 action figures

So, anyone here remember the dio I made a while back for my DCD Arkham figures?
Well, I quickly realised that with all the new figures anounced my dio was nowhere near big enough to fit them all on... so I decided to set about making a new one. A much better, much bigger one I might add! Now, after a few weeks and many, many hours of work it's finally finished!! (and definitely big enough to fit all the announced figures in!)

So here it is, my brand new custom-made Arkham City diorama!

As you can see it's much, much bigger than my last dio! Obviously it's not 100% game accurate due to the scale, but it's as close to the Arkham City entrance in the game as I could get it. Also, as you can see in the pics I decided to make the screen interchangeable so I can place any picture in there I want.
After 2 weeks of solid building I'm very pleased to now have it finished finally and very happy with the end result too! Now I just need to wait for the other figures to be released to add to it...
