From the film yes, although they've already headed into The Clone Wars so I would imagine the Phase I would head there as well. If you use Hasbro's checklist as a guide there are 9 different variations they could get into without counting the specific troopers like Echo, Fives, Matchstick and that's without getting into specific Commanders like Fox, Ponds, Blackout, Jet, Wolffe, Thire, Stone, etc. All based on the Phase I base like the AOTC Officers.

Both Phases have a lot of life left in them if Sideshow would like them too. Hell there are still three more variations of Rex left to do.

Ooh! Cold-weather Rex would rock as a regular release! I have the feeling the phase II Rex will be a regular release and will probably cost around $125, which seems to be the price point on the Commanders (yes, I know he's a Captain). There's a little too much new tooling required for him to be a SDCC exclusive. Phase I Gree would be a good candidate for the exclusive treatment, a straight re-paint, and they already have the head sculpt. Thing is, either this year or next, I could see SS beginning to do some battle droid repaints for exclusives, to coincide with the re-releases of the PT to theaters in 3-D. OOM-9 this year, Geonosian commander droid next year for AOTC, Kashyyyk droid for ROTS in 2014. Would make sense, no?

I would imagine that the Droids will follow suit to the Clones where we'd get some done as Retailer Exclusives, others at SDCC Exclusives but whether or not they'd specifically tie to The Phantom Menace 3D release is questionable since SSC other than the big one hasn't tied their products to the anniversaries.

I wouldn't be shocked if we got droids split in sets of two, a Commander and a Captain in the same box which would cut the number of times they'd go to the well for those. Where the Clones require for the most part singleton releases save maybe Echo and Fives who could be two-packed.

Well, these wouldn't be for anniversaries, but actual re-releases of the films to the theaters. The merchandising machine for Episode I is already in swing.

As for 2-packs, OOM-9 is a one off, I think he'd be perfect for a single release at, say $75 (mark up for exclusive status included). Security droids and pilot droids will likely be regular releases in 2-packs, so people can army build (I personally want security droids flanking Grievous!), but droid commanders would make logical exclusives.

I'd like another version of Rex. I just hope that we get some other stuff first rather than continued repaints of clones. ...I say this with the capt on the way and the sgt too.

So is the Captain a worthy buy?

If your collecting clones - its a no brainer, the red color scheme looks awesome. Particularly if you have the other Phase I officers to pose him with. I use to hate Phase I armor because of the odd fin on the top of the helmet, but I got over it - unfortunately for my space availability and my wallet...

That fin is important as it adds a nice aerodynamic feature for them to run faster.

The fin is there because of the Kaminoans. They have the fin, so the armor was designed by them with it. I like the fin.

Fin schmin....

I'll say this, as blasphemous as it may sound, I like the design of the Phase I clone better than the Phase II Clone AND the Stormtrooper.

not blasphemous, but i dont agree.i really dig phase 2,great designs among them, and of course the stormies...:yess:

i think the phase 1 helmets are great but given the option like with bly, i go with ph 2. my favorite though is the stormtrooper helmet.

I weathered my Medi Capt. and turning the other 2 into all white when I get the time, as I missed those by SS.
