I think Sideshow could pull off more of the GTA figures and some of the other Rockstar properties. Perhaps they could do Uncharted as well. I think they do better when the characters are somewhat cartoony looking. I know they have the Dead Space license, but that would be a pretty ambitious venture with the light up suit and such.

I agree. Their style suits the slightly exaggerated, just look at some of the G.I. Joe figures, they've got such wonderfully animated expressions even underneath masks!
Looking into Sideshow's back catalogue shows they have what it takes for Isaac Clarke, they have a good amount of experience with armoured figures. Also, if NECA can pull off the light-up feature on a 6 inch scale figure there's no reason Sideshow can't at 12.
Their Six Gun Legends line shows they can do Western figures well so a John Marston could be easily done.
They'll also be introducing an updated body with Zartan and Rock and Roll which looks as though sleeveless figures are possible so Tommy Vercetti and Max Payne's new look should be on the table too.

I think SS could do a great job on games like Dead Space or Bioshock. Even Resident Evil and Silent Hill by SS would be cool especially some of the monsters.

Maybe its not video game but computer game. I vote for more Diablo 3 game characters. Male monk and female wizard by Pablo Viaggio plz.

Yeah, would like to see more Blizzard stuff, not only Diablo but Warcraft and Starcraft. A Zerg and Protoss to go with Tychus would be nice.

God of war need more characters PF oh maquette style
Also love to see SS not based on video game but had
It in mind for a while love to see voltron maquette now that would be special

LOL at 'only from Rockstar games' having its own category.
Ah youngins

I would definitely love some old school games.

I'd buy a Gabriel Knight Schattenjäger figure !!

Gears of War
Doom
Crysis

These are listed in order of importance to me. While I'm a huge Doom fan, I can accept that they'd only make the Marine (preferably the Doom 3 version). Crysis, I can live without (just a suggestion, really).
Gears of War, however, is an absolute must. Imagine HT tackling the COG soldiers and Locust... the potential for detail is staggering, I mean the character designs are practically begging for well-done 1/6 figures.

Looks like there's some real interest out there but please bear in mind guys that this is about our interest in Sideshow making more video game figures, not Hot Toys. Not in any way bashing Hot Toys but realistically they can't make everything.

Neither can Sideshow, really.
The question for me is: would I rather have Sideshow or Hot Toys cover the licenses I've listed above? Probably Hot Toys, especially for Gears. Doom might be doable by Sideshow, though.

Not interested as long as it isn't about classical franchises (be4 2004) and 1/6 scale.

Well it's not as ridiculous a suggestion as you might think. Take Hot Toys for example, the vast majority of their video game figures are from one developer, Capcom. They've rarely diversified into other lines, there was one figure from Assassins Creed 2 and another one from a SOCOM: Navy Seals title. We're expecting Metal Gear Solid figures but it's been a long wait since they was announced.
2012 will be a big year for Rockstar Games, they'll be releasing Max Payne 3 and probably GTA: V and it's the 10 year anniversary of GTA: Vice City, Tommy Vercetti as a figure must be a real possibility.

Inevitably there will be comparisons with Hot Toys but as you say neither company can produce everything. However, would you be happy to see Sideshow produce more video game figures? Personally I'm looking forward to seeing if they do pursue more video game licences. There's already been a behind-the-scenes look in the DC section showing sketches of a 1/6 Arkham Asylum/City Batman that I would love to see produced.

Well Hot Toys might choose to get an exclusive license to Rockstar merchandise. That might happen I guess.

My point was its kind of funny to single out one game developer (with a 'only if its...' option) in a poll where the question was broad and the other answer options are 'yes' 'no'. :)

Why not Bioware? ..or Bethesda?
Personally I'd rather 1/6 Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls or Fallout than GTA

I'd like to see video game figures from both companies that fit into their particular specialty. Tommy Vercetti, Niko Bellic, John Marston from Sideshow and RockStar would be great. Additionally, I'd like to see them obtain more licenses. Sideshow could probably do decent Uncharted and Infamous. I'm also interested in see what their Arkham Asylum/Arkham City figures would be like. Some of those would be pretty complex.

Personally, I'd like to see 1/6 figures of characters from some of my personal favorite games like Jade from Beyond Good and Evil and various characters from Castlevania, but those seem unlikely. Nintendo licenses like Metroid, Zelda, and Mega Man would be high on my list as well.

More 1/4 and 1/2 scale Blizzard statues please (Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, World of Warcraft).

Sam Fisher, John Marston, Arkham City/Asylum Batman and Joker, more Assassins Creed, Gears of War, Hitman and Modern Warfare please :D

more videogame characters need to be made. Even if i don't really want em

MetalGear(getting done :))
Mastercheif
Mass effect guy
Half Life guy
Gears of War
God of War
Devil May Cry
Street Fighter
Tekken

the list goes on and on....
