Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

My second one arrived today. Differences I noticed:

- S shield is a bit lower and not crooked
- S shield yellow and red are more vibrant and even shaped slightly different
- Cape and neck area are more accurate, cape sits up higher on his shoulders
- Face paint is about the same, one has a bit more detail but both are very nice
- Trunks have less wrinkles when positioned correctly

An amazing figure!

Oh boy, I thought I had a perfect one when I opened it, boy was I wrong. :lol

I have a reg. coming tomorrow, my second (my first is the ex.), can't wait to see what problems it has . . .

What's wrong with it?

Was this second one a regular version compared to the EX? I'm wondering if there was a QC difference between the two.

Nope, both EX pieces.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Well there goes that theory out the window. Thanks for letting me know.

Well, I got my LED's in and here is what the base looks like (original) with them off.

And here is what the base looks like with them on.

My only let down is I couldn't get the light to light up the entire length of the two longest pillars.

you won't be able to achieve that effect cause the pillars are slanted while your LED is focused up.

Mine is out for delivery today!

Nope, glued the LEDs in at the angle of the pillar. I think it's the pegs that hold the two halfs of the pillars together that is blocking the light. The shorter ones don't have as many or any at all.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

still waiting to hear back from sideshow regarding one of my figures. the head sculpt has a defect. the neck joint is cracked and the "S" is very dark compared to my other figures.

Mine has the same breakage. Exactly the same actually.

I feel disenchanted with the hot toys and sideshow. :monkey2..... :lol

Seriously though, I might have busted it by yankin the head off. :dunno I don't want a replacement or money ~

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

It's funny how deep blue he looks in most people's photos. His blue looks a lot more pale/accurate in-hand.

You guys remember the cinemaquette?

I remember it being bad, but it somehow looks worse after HT's 1/6 has been released.

..and looks like he's wearing a boxer here :lol

What type of LEDs should I buy to add some light to the crystals?

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Well, after waiting by the door all day my Superman has arrived. The joy was very short lived as I quickly I discovered a defect I just couldn't live with. There is a glaring horizontal indentation/paint rub mark on the left side of his forehead. At certain angles it is not noticeable at all, but as soon as any light hits the face just right, it lights up in a bright reflection.

I could have tolerated a slightly crooked shield or a few minor snags in the fabric, but a defect like this is just too much for me to be happy at this price point. I have never had to deal with Sideshow's customer service before. I would like a replacement. How would I go about doing this? Could Sideshow just replace the head for me or is it an all or nothing switch? I'm extremely bummed out right now. :(

Testors dullcoat man... I've been saying. it will take you thirty seconds... no replacement, no sideshow, no waiting..

just mask off the rest of the head with tape and hit the spot with a light spray.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Damn it... My figure has been at a sorting station 30 minutes away since Sunday. Normally a package is on my doorstep the day after it arrives there, but my scheduled delivery date is Wednesday, so apparently UPS will just sit on the damn thing till then... Bastards. Does UPS not understand the grief of a grown man wanting his doll in his hands? It’s been like two weeks since I got a new one. :(

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

SSC is really dragging their feet with my replacement. Come on.
