Ash, the creator, said it'll be the most expensive figure produced by 3A.

The most expensive figure so far was $300. here's to hoping its $301 :panic:

Damn, seriously bro? In that case, Ash can keep it. As much as I like Metal Gear, I can't see myself spending more than a few hundred on this. With all the Play Arts and Hot Toys MGS stuff next year, as well as possible merchandise for Rising, there's just too much to get.

Im kinda the same way, but i feel like 3a rex with the mini snake pilot that will come with it would be a perfect and unique display for the metal gear series. Thats just me though. Im also not really diggin the proportions or colors on the play arts stuff. The scale is kinda weird on them to me as well.

Yeah, the Play Arts figures are kinda weird, as they're not in scale with anything.

I'm kinda feeling conflicted where REX is concerned. I want it, but don't want to spend too much for it, especially given what zombie said a few posts ago. Man....... we'll see. :panic:

I know what you mean but the thing about this is its soo limited. Once its gone its gone and imagine how much it'll be on eBay for example :horror

your righ tho it is far too much but ive been waiting too long for this:monkey2

I absolutely love the scale of these things! The price use to be right, but I am seeing a big jump in price for these Metal Gear guys already. It was bound to happen.

get them from amiami, its the cheapest place to get it and they might run out soon since some of their other Play Arts sold out.

Can't wait till early 2012, all this Metal Gear stuff is just over whelming.
Hopefully Rex isn't too expensive, i don't even know what ball park the pricing is gonna be. It'll be just tragic if after all this waiting i couldn't afford it.

Hopefully i get this job I'm interviewing for!!
Yeah right, thanks!

Just had a look, the price on Amiami is cheaper then Hobby Link Japan (HLJ).

Amiami want 4,390 Yen.

HLJ want 4,930 Yen.

Usually I get a friend to order it in for me from HLJ but I will see if he can get it through Amiami.

Don't both these sites carry international shipping?

Rejoice! release for Jan2012!!!
This is the final unpainted proto btw

Love the LED light up features - specially the cockpit light!
The price worries me a lot (over $300? - Gee!! I guess only the lucky riches can afford it)

BTW, the top/bottom proportion is off. Probably for the stability reasons. The legs became too big for the upper body. This makes the head smaller than concept image or in-game look. I guess they don't want $300 toy fall over head first.:lol
Also the ears (?) are too long (maybe they put the batteries there?) and knee maintenance hatches shouldn't be flat.
Lastly, the arm/shoulder joints and the hip/pelvis joints are nice, but missing some mechanical details (tubes and pipes..etc).
Hopefully they will address these issues by the release.
It ain't that easy to take my hard-earned money :dunno ($300 or more?)

I can guarantee it'll be the best representation of REX you'll ever find lol

its closer to the MGS4 version methinks

^That's MGS 4 from three years ago! You can't expect REX to look the same. It gained a few pounds since then, as seen from Ashley Wood's photos. Just look at those thunder thighs. REX has to cut down on that all-Gekko diet.

Now it's "Thigh-Rex":rotfl
Seriously, just look at the size of the head in all images (MGS or MGS4 - doesn't matter)
I'd rather get a good proportioned and well-articulated good size figure that huge, out-of-proportion, over-priced statue.
It could be just me though.

^I think we all are - the price for this thing is going to be insane like we all expect. But, it could just be the angles from the photo that make REX look a little out of proportion.
