Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'd like to chime in with "excellent pics" as well :rock Also thankful for them giving me a better idea of the shade of blue in hand, looks perfect!

The blue is darker than that in hand.

I've hardly seen any photos that accurately represent the colours of this figure - it'll be interesting to see what people make of it when it starts shipping in numbers. The asian skin tone on the figure is hardly ever captures in pics too.

Well, still super excited for my Asian Supes in dark blue.

Can somebody measure and give some rough dimensions for the HT base and crystal height? Thanks!

Didn't someone recently post pics with an Asian figure proving he does not have Asian skin tones?

The photos are very misleading with this figure as you can see from the photo of mine that I've attached, which looks like it has Caucasian skin tone but doesn't in hand.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Everything looks different in hand. That's why a shot with an Asian character is so useful. It gives us a baseline. An Asian skin toned figure looks like "this" on camera and "that" is a Caucasian figure. Do they look the same on camera? If not, only one of them has Asian skin tone.

That said, I'll reserve total judgment for when I have it in hand. I guess it's possible that the Bruce Lee figure is even more Asiany in it's skin tone than the already Asian toned Superman...

...but I doubt it.

Trust me when I took those shots Maglor, the first and the third shot is done with direct sunlight seeping through my window and shining against the wall. Reeve is definitely more pale in person than Bruce and Bruce is that type of a tone as well. This set is done with even more sunlight, and one is done with a flash. Even his tone is different from Indy, again I took these using natural sunlight, the last one is done with a flash.

I'm confused. Are you saying you think Superman's skin does or does not look Asian? 'Cos you pics make it seem pretty clear that he doesn't look at all Asian.

Exactly, No Asian tone at all :) I'm just agreeing with your theory on skin tone.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

In fact the camera has made him look even pinker. In hand, he is more cream or flesh colored if that makes sense. I was watching Superman the Movie the other day with a blu ray and of couse HD format and it's uncanny how Reeve's makeup or skin tone matched the figure, not perfectly, because that's impossible to copy actual human flesh with skin tone paint, but it was a great representation of his look in the movies, I can see why they chose that hue for the figure, In different lights and settings it blends in well. :hi5:

Thanks all for the warm welcome! Look forward to reading everyone's opinion and photos.. with the Cap, batman/joker figures in the horizon.

Words can't describe the awesomeness of this piece. I'm seriously going to hunt down another one of these figures, to custom paint an evil Superman or a battle damaged version. Hopefully, the prices stay reasonable on Ebay.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

That wouldn't be a problem, although not where I was headed with this particular idea. The pieces i made are too small for what I think you are asking for. heres a picture next to a dime for size comparison:

PM me though and we can maybe figure out something like what you're talking about, could be pretty cool!

Yeah, I'm interested on this as well. Looks amazing! Looking forward to the end result!

I have no doubt they made a ton of these so you/we should be ok.
