Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I am really trying to NOT get this figure....but MY GOD the pictures!!! It turned out so beautiful. And my first toy wish as a small youngling was a Superman figure I saw in a catalogue which I didn't get. Awwwww man this is so tough!

Buy it now or pay a lot more down the road. You can always sell it if you need money.

Don't hesitate. Show Hot Toys what a good sculpt can do for their pocketbooks.

And even though out of necessity others will play the part, Christopher Reeve will always be Superman to me. I liked Brandon Routh and this new guy looks pretty good, but I don't think anybody will ever capture Superman the way Reeve did. This absolutely deserves a place on any comic collector's shelf.

I agree! C. Reeve will always be my superman, not that I didn't like superman returns; for a nostalgic movie it was okay for me. Truthfully, because it tried to carry over the original made it better for me. A fresh new start should be good for the franchise. Even with George Reeves, although he came before, i find that Reeve's interpretation is my main image since it had a lasting impression on my 5 year old brain. I am going through Kirk Alyn's serials to see his portrayal.

Although, I had 2 of this figure pre-ordered with CSC, i snagged a loose one from e-bay without the head for 150.00 free shipping. I figured once my 2 arrives, i'll cast a copy and change the expression to an angry, teeth bared version. If I had my wish I'd have a row full of Supermen figures.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

This figure blows my mind. I think that anyone who is a fan of the movie, Superman, Reeve as a person, comics, Hot Toys, or 1/6th in general should purchase this figure. It is one of the best 1/6th figures I've ever seen, and, if that wasn't enough, some of the proceeds are going to a great cause.

HT should make the 1975 Dodge Monaco Superman keeps stashed in the fortress just in case he gives up his powers :D

These pics are making the wait more painful... :(

That second pic frustrates me because it would have been so easy to pull the sleeves down a tiny bit more to cover the wrist joints. Would have looked even more real then.

You guys looking for perfection and still nitpicking this figure are ridiculous. It must be sad to never be satisfied.

:lol :pfft:

It's little things like that that really sell a display. :lecture

I bet the number of people that wouldn't notice something like that outweighs the number that would.

We're talking millimeters here Maglor.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

No, we're talking seeing the wrist joints and not seeing the wrist joints.

No way I would take that pic with that pose and not make sure those joints were concealed. It's a pet peeve of mine.

But I'll grant that I am in the minority here. :wave

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The highest compliment I can think of for this figure is that, looking at these pics which makes Christopher Reeves' Superman look so fresh and alive, it makes me miss the man even more. :( I'm so very glad a portion of the sales will go to charity in his name. :clap This figure is nothing less than a work of pop art. The wait will be hard! :impatient:
