Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I would not say angry, more intense. When he is chasing missiles, acting as rail track, or generally saving the world, you can't blame him for looking that way

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I have to say that I've tried to avoid this figure for as long as I could, due to the knowledge that the more I paid attention to it, the more difficult the wait would be. That being said, this new photo has made it that much more unbearable.

The fact that the wait is finally almost over is just a part of the excitement. After seeing the work they did on the sculpt, and the extraordinary and unique quality of the packaging, I believe that HT has really made something special of this release. Frankly, I can't wait to see for myself.

yes i agree...this is a must own figure especially if this was the first exposure to a comic book movie like it was mine.

Yep. The eyes have to look up for a flying pose to work well.

But I would argue that you wouldn't have to tilt the head down when standing. I think a gazing heavenward pose would work well for Supes. I know that's what I hope to do. I have to many head bowed poses.

personally i think the eyes will look fine when all is said and done.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I think the expression on the new sculpt is more to looking like he's ready for battle. The prototype expression looked really dull and dead but it looked like Christopher Reeves a bit. This new one looks more confident, more ready, and just a greater resemblance overall.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I do appreciate how much of an improvement the revised sculpt represents over the proto, though I was satisfied with the proto sculpt. Like last Easter I got a big chocolate egg and I thought how awesome that was. But then I cracked into that egg and it was full of heaps of gooey-centred little eggs!

Regarding the eyes I'm really happy to get something that's a little bit unusual.

Good idea. Could look pretty cool that way :hi5:

Oh man, great improvement on the HS. The eyes are really the game changer..oh, and the chin too. :clap

The packaging looks fantastic. Can be a great backdrop to the figure as well! Nicely done! :wink1:

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

GL wasn't on par with Superman or Batman but far from crap IMO. I have seen worse (FF, Catwoman etc). Based on costume design (movie aside), I would love to add a GL figure with Bats and Supes

I haven't seen the film yet, but will order the figure if HT nail the design.

My only experience with GL is from Batman cartoons and "First Flight" and i love the look of the character.

I'm sure there are fans of the comic who liked the film and want the figure, just as there are fans of the comic who didn't like the film but want the figure anyway and fans of the movie who know nothing about the comic but will buy the figure.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I thought the movie was average but i'd buy anything they make from this film. I love the character and I loved the character design for the film too

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The great thing about these HT superhero figures is even if the film was balls the figure is probably excellent and you can just pretend its based off of a good film of your own imagination.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

First, ____ all of you for talking ____ about GL. :lol

Second, ____ all this commentary, critique and concern and get this figure on my shelf HT it looks phenomenal.

That is all.

Tonycheung at kidult toy shop says he has the exclusive in stock. To ship this week. He has always been very reliable.

I ordered one from him in May, so hopefully it won't be too long!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Sweet we should have the normal retailers having them for us in 4-6 weeks then :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Yup, Tony just confirmed mine will be shipped this week.
It's got the kryptonite included so the HT store must have that as an exclusive as well.

:panic: and :yess:
