A word about heat and discoloration:

Has anyone actually had a head/figure get discolored from hot air from a hair dryer? I've had it happen with the boiling method, but never just with air.

If you familiar with futzing, changing the clothes completely makes them look better when you put them on yourself.

Well, this part I agree with. I undress all my figures to get them just right. I do an initial futzing when I get a figure, but I don't consider it to be truly "futzed" until he's been stripped and re-dressed.

But I'll be damned if I'm gonna screw up all that glorious futzing just to get a head off! :lol

I've fixed that on several heads (including that one) in a mater of seconds. And I'm not bragging. I used my Kindergarten skillz. :winner :lol :peace

Then you did it wrong. Sticking a tea cup in the microwave for a minute is all you need, then drop the head in for 30 seconds. You shouldn't have the temperature so high that it "cooks" the head.

As for the heads, look, if you're going to be swapping heads, it's feasible to expect you to have a pair of needle-nose pliers handy to help pop off the small neck adapter with leverage. Using brute strength to twist off the heads, hands, and feet on high-end, $150+ collectibles only results in long threads about busted necks, wrist pegs, knee joints, ankle pegs, etc. We've seen this already. Investing in a handful of tools to help prevent breakage in this hobby is as wise an investment as the Detolfs/Bestas to store them in.

Good to know.

To be clear, I've only ever used a hair dryer on Hot Toys stuff. The boiling meathod I've used for cheaper plastic.

The one time I had discoloration was with the Batman in this picture:

I boiled him to adjust the arm and leg positions and he came out all blotchy. It turned out to be a blessing though, as I was forced to repaint the entire thing (as seen in this picture) and he looked way better. :)

Oh man, with these copyright issues i just wasted my time creating and syncing it, i put some joker scenes/from TDK and soundtrack to showcase and accompany the figure. :( oh man.. I'll just upload it again, and try to post it if it's already problem free :D

Yeah that copyright BS on youtube is creatively limiting. It's one of the reasons that I gave up making vids on there.

It's amazing how quick they get them too.

I only have the original Version one Joker with no alerations done to it but this is still an awesome figure despite it being inferior to the DX version. Looks good even when standing alone.
