love this pic

Wow. Love every picture of this figure. Hopefully I'll have a new Ikea detolf by the time he comes out.

I just tried sitting thru Returns again but I simply can't do it.

All the charm from the first one is gone.

There are still some scenes I enjoy but overall, hell noooooo!

I even prefer the 89 costume over Returns.

Sometimes I don't think these are collectors that put these things on display. Seems like they just stick it on the stand, close the door and walk away...Futz it a bit for crying out loud! :lol

Hell, I can't even walk past my shelves w/o first stopping to ensure everything is as it should be.

The thing i love about this design the most is how well it looks in brighter light as well as dark, my TDK Begins never looks this good in brighter pics, that 89 cowl makes a big difference visually.

I don't see how a person could have one without the other.

Not everybody has the liberties of your financial situation. :dunno

Truth be told, if I was limited to one, it would be Keaton's Batman. Batman is still Batman without the Joker. But Nicholson's Joker (outside of a Joker collection), is nothing without '89 Batman. That doesn't mean he won't look good displayed on his own, but I'd always look at him and wish I'd gotten Batman too.

Yeah. Regardless of whether Joker stole the film and even had top billing on the film poster, the film is called Batman not The Joker. Batman is the one to own if it has to be just one.

Didn't someone's local dealer have info saying hot toys said there will be no re-releases no improved version of these two figure and that this will be the only release if 89 bats and joker in there classic outfits that they will ever do!:dunno.

I've been following these two releases ('89 Batman and '89 Joker) religiously and never heard any of that. I think we're all under the assumption that there won't be anymore but look what they're doing with TDK (already multiple Begins suit versions, TDK versions and Jokers galore). If this line sells (even with the high price it looks like a lot of people are biting) then I could see them doing "2.0s" but really, what more could they do and improve upon? Like Nam and others have said, I see these as the best possible 1/6 Batman '89 figures, aka, one-and -dones.

Joker could see a slew of variations but Batman is literally done. What more could they do? A full battle damaged version? What accessories could they do, they've included everything with Batman. There's nothing else.

Why can you see them doing "2.0's" of 89 Joker? ..can you honestly see them making a better version of this in the future? ..i don't think so.

2.0 in the sense of another "regular" purple suited Jack Nicholson Joker or 2.0 in the sense of another Jack Nicholson Joker but as a variation?

Hot Toys have already expressed interest in "alternate" versions.

Someone translated it and supposedly more '89 Joker is a strong possibility.

I honestly don't think Nicholson's Joker lends itself to a multitude of releases. Up until a week ago, I didnt even realize he wore multiple outfits in the film apart from the mime getup, and that doesn't seem very desireable. All his other outfits are very similar.

This figure looks too good to be true...theyre up to something.....probably gonna make the entire suit melt once the buyers touch it or something..

I'd like to see different headsculpts, some with his flesh coloured makeup and non teeth-baring faces too. I'm very glad they went with the teeth showing, I just would like to see others also.

If I couldn't afford both I would get neither. But then in my case my shelf is either going to have Nolan's batman and joker or Burton's, not a mix of the two.

But a Hot Toys collector can always do what I did and sell figures currently in their collection to fund new ones. That would be my recommendation for anyone who can only afford one or the other.

Batman looks very good.It pretty hard to choose wich one I get Joker or Batman.

Considering your avatar is the Joker I think you already know which 1 you'll be getting. :huh

If I had to choose just 1, I would choose the Joker. Imo that sculpt is the best, and it comes with a s___ load of accessories to boot. Not only that, but he is fully posable with no worries of damaging his suit and you'll have a seemingly endless array of poses to display him with. Last but not least you'll be worry free of the Joker leaking like a sieve. :lecture

Or, maybe he can just buy one, like he wants. After all, it's his ____ing money, right? :lol

I'm a HT collector, have been since their early military days. I don't collect like you. Nolan's Batman and Burton's Batman will happily coexist in my collection because I don't have OCD issues. Matter of fact, when HT releases the new Superman, He'll stand proudly next to Nolan's Batman on a shelf below Burton's Batman and Donner's Superman. How's that chaff yer chonies? :lol :pfft:
