Another thing I noticed about this sculpt is that he's smiling. His mouth isn't, but the entire rest of his face is. I think that's what I meant by the Boy Scout features that set him apart from Bale.

I can't tell from the picture why the mouth is like that. Surely some red flags went up, but someone decided that "feature" was important enough to make 5000 of them.

I still hope we get a Clark kent later with a smirk/smiling sculpt.

I understand that mouthpieces are easier to do than a whole new sculpted head,but Batman came with 3 impressive mouth pieces that looks exactly like Keaton's expressions and Reeve Superman deserves the same,i really want a smirking portrait.

I hope they re-release him with multiple expressions. We have to have his most iconic look which is that smirk as no other Superman actor has ever been able to recreate. The looking tough face is fine, but they did not get it 100% right. The 89 HT sculpts blow this CR HT Supes out of the water. As huge a Superman fan I am, (and I own every single Chris Reeve's official sculpt out there) I can't believe I am contemplating not getting this at this point in time and going for the 89 figures instead.

I wouldn't mind an additional Smirking sculpt in addition to the serious head. It could be fun to pose him doing the "NPC slow walk of doom" towards a guy pointing a gun at him.

As if he's thinking " really? a gun? again?"

or have the thug posed tossing the gun at him in desperation.

How about the "Bad vibrations" pose...lol..

I hear ya.. It is just a disappointing sculpt after all the time HT had to make it great. That and or make two head sculpts that way they would have doubled their chances of getting one right.

Some people in this thread need to stop comparing a full actor's headsculpt to a keaton mouth sculpt in a batman cowl and a makeup-ed, prosthetic smiling, nicholson sculpt. The full human sculpt is always way harder to do and no matter what will never be 100% accurate, whereas the deficiencies of the other 2 can be covered up more by the effects that the makeup/mask provide.

This sculpt is perfect to me. No need to change a thing. I can't wait for this piece!

Why would hot toys make two head sculpts with their first release of Christopher reeves, when they can sucker everyone to buy a second superman possibly dx Clark Kent superman with rolling pers and glasses with two head sculpts.

I really believe we will see another superman before the 2012 Christmas. They know they will make bank on any superman having to do with Christopher reeves likeness so they will hit us with another. The way they are doing things with batman and iron man you best believe we will see more than one Christopher reeves supes and of corse we will all buy it I know I will
