why are HT prices rising? not to sound condescending or anything, i'm pretty rich, but looking at these price tags has me scratching my head.

look at reeves supes, begins/wayne, the iron man figs. seriously what the hell is going on here?

HT's better be careful, when these figs start hitting $300, many people are gonna bail, along with myself. yeah, i can afford them, but i'm not gonna support them if they continue raising their prices because they're the only ones rocking the 1/6th world.

what i loved about HT's was that their products were amazing for their value. now they're heading into premium format pricing and that's ludicrous.

can anyone shed any light on this? what the hell is going on?

You have to keep in mind that hot toys now have more sculptors and painters, and plus the liecenses are not cheap, especially for a movie this big.

So, so, so bought.
I might finally be able to retire from this 1:6 collecting business next year, this and HT Supes were my grail pieces.

No Joker, though. At least not yet, lol

I pre-ordered this from BBTS!!YES this is going to be my first Hot Toys figure for definately sure!!:yess::banana

Yeah I remember Watching a documentary about Jack Nicholson in Batman and his contract for the film was a percentage of whatever the film makes FOREVER! He owns a piece of stock and the rights to this film so that may be why his likeness copyright is so high as well. And For hot toys in general, its supply and demand. If people want it bad enough Hot TOys knows people will pay it.

So Im sure Jack if not yet will know about this figure and be laughing his ass off with it sitting on his coffee table next to a good percentage of our cash going right to him.

Well, guys I did it. Gave SSC's my business for the points and got Batman and flex payed Joker since there's an NRD anyways. Two awesome figures I can't wait and due to my collection being tiny and my budget tinier...this may be it for awhile. I cancelled the Bale Hot Toys Batman and may be canceling my IG88 as well.

I hear you, but the answer is simple. Batman (in general) is one of their highest selling lines. If people (including myself) keep buying it at these price points, then the price will continue to rise with every similar offering. And realistically, if the price tag on the 89 joker would have been $289 - $300 I'm sure many people would still order it.

Indy is cheaper, comes with more hands, a base with two backdrops, dio piece and a second outfit.

This has one outfit and an extra coat, some great but tiny and cheap-to-make accessories a bland recycled base, and COSTS MORE ... :slap

Nicholson and likeness rights aside, this is going too far.

Even Batman is too much with the amount provided compared to an equally priced Jack Sparrow

You canceled the Bale? And ordered through sideshow again? I thought you were done with them?

:monkey3

Problem with that is, prices creep slowly, so you can adjust.

People said they'd be out when SS SW went up to $79 from $49. People said they'd be out when HT went from $80 to $125 and broke $100 barrier, then again when they were approaching $200 and broke that barrier... now again as we near $300.

Not sure where this hobby prices itself out anymore.

These will be my gift to myself but nothing else for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong long time.

having more sculptors and painters means raising the prices on ALL of their products? i'm aware that these licenses aren't cheap, but that still doesn't make too much sense. why wasn't i paying these prices with the TDK line? predator? iron man?

sculptors and painters that work on a line should get paid for that line. so that should keep prices below $200. i mean, it almost sounds like "oh in order to fund other projects like indiana jones, we need to raise the prices on the iron man line..."

like someone said, they P'Oed 2 of each from THIS line, and how much did it run him? $900. i remember a time when doing something like that would only run me $720 or less.

i'm not whining for the sake of whining, but i see a pattern that's headed towards VERY dangerous territory. and i KNOW...KNOW I'M NOT the only one.

i'll repeat, when the time comes where in order to buy just ONE figure is gonna cost 3 bills, HT is gonna risk losing a lot of fans.
