How has the upcoming Avengers film affected your collecting?

I'm a new collector, so I have a ton of catching up to do across multiple franchises. I've personally decided to wait until the Avengers gets released before I buy any Marvel Hot Toys. What about you guys? Have you already ordered/preordered the current awesome crop of figures and will simply order the Avengers? Or do you plan to sell some of your current Marvel to help pick up the Avengers? Or are you like me and biding your time?

If i like the look of a figure i'll get it, its that simple.

With all of the other awesome licenses that Hot Toys has; to commit to just one license is moronic, especially with the cost of collecting every Avengers figure they'll make.

PO'ed the Cap figure simply cause I somehow feel that I'll like the classic look of his WWII suit better than his new one.

Only time will tell if that's true but better to get it now than to pay triple the current price for it next year. You could always sell it later if you do decide to "upgrade".

No, it happens to be a coincidence that I'm mainly collecting only superheroes, whether it be Marvel or DC.

Well its sorta the nature of the Hot Toys game, you'll become very familiar with it. A figure comes out, looks awesome so you buy it only to find out they're releasing a superior one in the future (i.e. Joker, Bank robber Joker, DX Joker....DX Joker v2, Predator, Iron Man, etc...)

I guess it just comes down to personal preference, but HT knows they got us because there are some that may have iron man, thor and cap, but once avengers comes out we'll want their new looks too since they'll "go together"

It's affected me in terms of I only really want the one's from the Avengers movie due to space issues but saying that there is no way I am missing out on the WW2 Cap!

I passed on the HT Thor in order to get the Avengers version of the same character. Their first attempt was simply not good! Nothing else was affected though. I will be getting Cap and still got my Mark IV in hands and Mark II coming in.

And I hope this gives us a HT Hulk.

Not at all. I'll get Iron Man, Cap, BW (assuming its sculpted hair), Hulk, and maybe maybe Thor depending on how I warm to the Triple H look.

Thats what I thought of when I saw the leaked trailer before comic-con. I'm sure I'll warm up to it seeing it in a full movie but I prefer the original look.

I just try to be aware of what films are coming out and keep them in consideration for all purchases. Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises are my 2 main priorities for next year. It's difficult with all the product shown at CC but I'm still trying to save for those 2 lines while purchasing here and there with the current offerings.

Regarding the same topic, I purchased the current Spider-man once I saw the suit for the Amazing Spider-man film because to me it looks better and it's the version of Spidey I want on my shelf.

I have to say though that the one figure I'm looking forward to most is the HULK.

I'll stick with what I have, even if the Avenger Cap has a better looking uniform. I'd buy an Avenger Hulk without hesitation and any of the rest of the cast that hasn't been made.

The Avengers movie hasn't affected my collecting at all. I think one Capt. America is good enough for me. I don't really like the new look of his Avengers suit.
