Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm gonna go out on a limb and believe that these sculptors Hot Toys employees are clearly not amateurs to the tools available to them. :dunno

So are you saying we should just sit and keep our mouth shut if we see clear areas for improvement in a prototype collectible product? :dunno

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Am I the only one who finds the exclusive an easy pass? I mean - for poseability... how many people are going to recreate the scene where Superman is too weak to stand? I'm not sure what would have been better, but I know I would never use the necklace for anything. Now as an exclusive for a Lex Luthor figure - thats a different case...

I think you answered your own question right there. When and if HT makes a Hackman Luther, you'll have a pretty kick-ass accessory won't you? :wink1:

I have the same thought. I am debating if I should cancel the ex and just get the reg instead and get the free shipping deal. It just doesn't make sense to pose Superman standing up and carrying the Kryptonite around his neck, unless they give us another " powerless look" head sculpt. But on the other hand, It may be a nice additional accessory if HT is going to make Lex in the future.

Speaking about Lex, I was surprise Ht didn't make Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor in the Superman Returns line.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I'm thinking of canceling the EX as well. Not worth the extra money for that accessory. Plus not for nothing, but if they did make a Lex in the future or if there was a good reason to use that Kryptonite prop, that would not be a hard accessory to make myself. It would cost a lot less too.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

the Terminator 2 T800 Arnold is spot-on perfection. at two hundred-dollars I want perfection :peace

It was not perfection by any means... i love the figure and it's awesome... but is face is off just about as much as this Supes is...

Just saying... you will be silly not to buy this figure based on the likeness.

M.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Have to agree. Arnold's likeness was definitely not 100% but very very close. There was no denying it was the Terminator though and there is no denying this is Reeve's Supes.

Thanks for the kind words about my Dad. Even Riddick's post made me smile, because, well it's typical Riddick. :)

Looks like just a matter of a slight repaint. There is still plenty of time to get it just about right.

i did buy this figure and You're Right it looks like Reeve. i am just Nitpicking:peace

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Its like playing spot the difference. You sure its just a repaint? Looks like eyes, and nose are tweaked in that pic:dunno

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The main differences to me appear to be thicker eyebrows, vertically wider eyes, the tapering of the neck as it goes into the head gotten rid of, a more squared off jaw and a bigger distance between his bottom lip and the beginning of his....chin-crease.. if you'd call it that.

I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Well, I haven't been paying attention to this in the last few days - but I think it looks great.

I feel lucky to have ordered the Sideshow exclusive version! I was surprised I was able to, actually...

Hey Frank, if no one else has said so, welcome aboard!

I totally agree with your post. I'm a Supes fan, but was planning to pass on this since I got the 1/6 Mattel fig. After seeing the photos, I had to pull the trigger on the EX.

Thank you much! It's the best 210+ dollars I've ever spent on "toys". I'm not even worried. This one's for you Chris. Anybody else get to thinkin about him after this?:

Breaks me up a little. Can't forget you, Mr. Reeve.

About the nitpicking; Hot Toys might be the only company that goes through as much trouble, making adjustments based off of criticism, to get a likeness just right. These guys are true artists. Superman couldn't be in better hands.
