That is simply amazing, wow wow wow. That is as close to perfect as it can ever get, in fact that is perfect. That is how i thought it would look in the first place. Though Arnie's sculpt is still great. Hopefully they will take note, if any sculpt deserves to be 100% accurate its this one.

I'll quote it again because this is the ONLY photoshop I have seen that made a substantial improvement. :lecture

Let's compare it to a better photo of the figure, instead of one of the most unflattering ones

Same here! They (more like WE, but still) made such huge deal about this release, I truly thought this was best effort by Hot Toys yet, however it came down as just another release, nothing too special about. This head sculpt looks perfect man.

Its so good I've had to email Arnie and tell him about it

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

It has not. Not for me anyway. They lose me at Zod saying about a lake 'what a strange surface'. They live on an ice planet and he doesn't know what liquid is? Hell they're alive, they exist, and they've never encountered water?

That, and when Ursa gets bit by a snake and it seems to hurt her as she rubs her wrist. SHE JUST FLEW IN OUTER SPACE!! Just stupid.

That still beats Superman flying into space with Muriel Hemingway in Superman IV -- and her eyeballs not being sucked out of her head. Maybe Kryptonians can survive in space ... Muriel Hemingway was just some chick.

SnakeDoc

It just amazes me that that kind of ___t got written in and no one stopped and said 'errmm, no, thats silly. Yes I know we're making a film about superpowered aliens who can fly and shoot lazers out of their eyes and freeze things with their breath but lets try to have some grounding in reality shall we'. There is NO WAY a super-advanced alien civilisation, or any one individual from that alien race, doesn't know what water is. Excise that line.

the nostalgia critic actualy made a top about stupid moment in superman films

after the indiana jones 'fiasco'

Can we not speak of this. It shall be known as the thing we can not speak of.

After Jack Sparrow and Superman and previous Terminators... the thing we can not speak of is a horror to not be known.

It's still an enormous improvement. But I'll be honest and say that I don't think the pic you quoted is anymore flattering.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

The neck is thick enough at the base. Ideally, the neck should be thicker where the neck flows into the jawline ...

But I don't think the logistics of having an articulated head will allow that. The neck has to taper if you want to attach a plastic head, and be able to move it. I honestly think that is a lot of the difference between the two -- the neck tapering. There are slight changes at the height of the jawline in comparison to the neck (also possibly related to the logistics of an articulated head), and around the eyes.

I'm afraid I don't see the differences as subtle. The manip looks like Sebastian slapped Reeve's face on to the original and for me is a vast improvement. I felt the original sculpt was lacking somewhat but chose not to get involved in the feeding frenzy of abuse to a couple of folk whose only crime was to disagree with the masses. Maybe they can see now what the shortcomings are.

And I do think the figure is superb and have him on order. A couple of years ago this would have been regarded as utterly exceptional but things have moved on since then.

There's clearly plenty of room to improve in the sculpt no matter what angle you look at it from

It's Unfaltering because it show's us what the sculpt truly look's like, that's as dead on a shot of the actual sculpt there is..there is still room for improvement.

It look's good from the side ..yes, but i want it to look good from every angle.

It's so hard not to. :(

First time seeing that pic of the figure, looks great to me.

How come all this modding and ____ was never done to photos of that horrible CM Maquette?, that thing cost way more too, Hot Toys bested it in every way possible, lets just be thankful at the moment and if they decide to tweak the sculpt for the better then awesome but, really the figure is looking marvelous as is.
