EB GOD figure body

I think the flexing is pretty kew idea. But that bicep muscle is too funny. When someone flexes, the center of the muscle doesn't look like a tent pole. :lol

I'm sure they will improve the body over time, but I like how HT has moved on from rubber bodies.

Has anyone ever explained why everyone - Enterbay especially - seem to avoid Big Boss at all costs?

Fans have been demanding that one since Enterbay released its first GoD figure. Most people wanted one from each of his movies. 5+ years later they've made two EtD's, THREE GoD's and are now developing their THIRD EtD statue. They've even made Kato!?...what gives?

And Hot Toys is going for 2 non-film Bruce Lee's instead (which I do love).

Look I noticed a major pattern when I read JC Hongs blog inspite of Googles broken English Translator. Apparently Enterbay were not very happy when HT managed to get the license to make the Bruce Lee figure.

If you see something, the rights of ALL the Bruce Lee movies we know of are property of STAR TV or something basically its from Hong Kong Production company EXCEPT Enter The Dragon which is from Warner Bros. I think Enterbay when they started out got the license and exclusivity from the HK company. Warner being american probably doesnt give away rights for so long. So their EtD license for 1:6th figures was long over and done with. HT are GREAT with Hollywood licenses so they easily snagged up the EtD license HOWEVER the Chinese licenses are a different matter. They are still held by Enterbay. THATS why HT gives us DX from EtD and Movie Icons Bruce for which they ONLY need a license from the Bruce Lee foundation.

Also I remember JC Hong mentioned somewhere that Enterbays 1:4th statue for EtD was not legit or something... however it just may be the translator function

Honestly this is all speculation in my part... as for why we havent got Big Boss... I believe its more a fault of the market research team. They just cant stop milking the movies they believe fans 'know' more about...

great info!!!

You are most likely correct on the licensing.
I knew STAR bought the rights from Golden Harvest many years ago but it never occurred to me that Enterbay's exclusive would be the STAR owned films and Hot Toys could circumvent that by going to Warners for EtD. Very interesting!

Also you may be right when talking about Enterbay's EtD statues not being legit (re official). While all the 1/6 figures reference the movie titles, the statues do not which may be because they no longer had the license to use the title 'Enter the Dragon'.....just guessing?

These are the reasons WHY Im NOT passing up this release, lot of people are waiting for HT to inevitably release a GoD or figures from the rest of his films. I think we'll have to wait quite long for that to happen (Even I hope that it will happen eventually). Enterbay's founding line was and is Bruce Lee. They arent gonna give that up easily, and honestly HT dont care THAT much to concentrate on Bruce Lee like Enterbay do, they have enough licenses to keep them busy for a LOOOOONG time...

I guess three pages ago is too long for some to go without seeing the same pics :dunno

...but seeing as how this is your first post and all, welcome to the EB GoD Disappointment club :)

:lecture:lecture:lecture Would it kill these guys to actually look back a page or two? Jesus. :monkey1 :lol

Don't they still have to get approval from Linda to do Bruce's likeness?

Linda,Shannon The Bruce Lee Foundation gives the license ONLY for the likeness (probably), however I dont think they give exclusivity.

Also for representation of Bruce lee from The Movies you need a license from the owners of that particular movie's rights... as far as I know Star TV HK owns the rights to ALL his movies EXCEPT EtD which was produced by Warner Bros.

I swear Big Jim was better than that and that was in the 1970s.

Finally EB breaks their silence in their FB page:

Thank you for all your comments.

Enterbay never stated that the Game of Death body will be seamless, we always stated that its is a prototype and we have always officially stated that the seamless body that we have shown will be dismantled from the joints and you will be purchasing a body that will be dismantled , as documented in our shop window display AND our website.

Thank you for understanding
Enterbay Team

^but they still didnt explain wtf happened to quality of the body, its not just cuz they added joints, its just the whole body looks sooo much cheaper and worse than the initial prototype pics

They are right. It's our fault. :cuckoo:

No I have to agree with EB on this one, duh....

EB, from their window display is obviously telling us that this is a piece of ____ aka SHIZNIT!

I agree that it has more issues than just the joints, but quite a few of you really did seem angry by the mere fact that there were joints and I think that's what they're addressing. You look on their FaceBook and sadly the majority seem to be angry for largely this alone, like they were promised a seamless body.

Can't blame them cause by showing us a seamless body preview, everyone will automatically assume that the final release will be a seamless body. It is almost false advertising.

They should have just show us pics of the body with joints from the very beginning. I dare say the backlash would have been much less.
