No I'm actually gonna go with the rearing horse if I can find one at a decent price

Do you have a link for this? I'd be curious to see it. From the stationary DiD horses with fur that I've seen, the eyes tend to look too... feminine, for lack of a better work.

Sure will post a link when I'm home, but challenging via iPhone lol

The eyes are feminine yes, but doubt they'd look feminin once they've been painted a demonic red ;)

Nice pis Di. Is it just my imagination, or are Scarecrows pants hiked up kind of high? :huh

It must be the pics or something because in person, they're not high watering at all (I untucked them from out of the boots too). I just pulled them down a bit now, and it looks fine.

Keep in mind, I took the coat and tie off, so naturally my pants are visible.

Thankfully, none of the snaps on my straight jacket are broken, they're all fine. :yess:

I see exactly what you guys mean though. They're horribly made and extremely fragile. One wrong move and I'm sure they'll break.

Scarecrow

First impressions were pretty bad with this set, atleast for me. Once I got them out of the packaging they felt cheaper than the Hot Toys figures I own. I can't really explain it. Scarecrow's head and the straight jacket are very well done (well, maybe other than the snaps) and I love the dirty, grimy hands but I'm not impressed with the True Type or clothes underneath. The tailoring and fabric just feels incredibly cheap.

The True Type is a piece of crap, I felt like I was going to break the damn thing. The clothes are poorly made and there's stray threads all over the place, especially that white undershirt. The hemming isn't anything to write home about either. The tie was a pleasant surprise though, especially owning Two-Face/Harvey Dent. It felt like the perfect 1/6 tie.

Demon Batman

Essentially, what you see in the photos on here is what you get. This is a boring figure. The cape is garbage and restrictive and the headsculpt is meh. It's a little better in person and has this life to it that I can't describe, but it doesn't do much for me. I like the "damage" texture on the suit, but other than that this is a forgettable piece.

On the bright side, it made me realize how perfect my OC Batman is. I've always been worried with my Takara and OC Batman figures because of their rubber suits, but after having a third example, my OC Batman is pretty much case fresh when it comes to the rubber. I always felt that there was a "problem" with mine like the rubber was thin, but nope, everything is how it's supposed to be.

Overall

$195 each (I paid $390 shipped for the set) is definitely a punch in the gut for these. This is the first Hot Toys purchase of mine that I haven't been too fond of. Batman is back in his box (I need more room to display him and he just looks odd amongst everyone else), but I have been tinkering with Scarecrow.

Without the coat and tie, I've been getting some nice little poses with Scarecrow, it's starting to grow on me. The thought and desire of owning a regular business suit version has also been growing in my mind. He's definitely the winner of this set, but man are his clothes and body cheap. I'm sure this was a quick, rushed after thought on Hot Toy's part, but I'm just glad I finally have a 1/6 Scarecrow to round out the Batman villains rank.

It's also worth noting that I'm impressed with the presentation of the box. It's classy. Mine came in the brown mailer, sealed without the number or certificate of authenticity.

I was pissed for about, eh, maybe 5 seconds until I cracked Scarecrow out of his box, then I soon forgot about it and let it go. It would have been nice to have, but whatever, atleast I knew that these were MIB.

Now I'm contemplating another Scarecrow. I have an extra pair of T-1000s regular shoes, Scarecrow's coat and tie. So all I really need is his head, another TT body, a white shirt and pants and I should be good to go.

That is a big horse! I mean I know horses are big, but that thing looks like a 8' horse if Scarecrow is any size indiction. Other than the horse possibly being too big...

It is a big horse - around 14 1/2" to the tips of the ears - but it doesn't look overly large in hand.

:lol

Oh come on. It looks fine. It was a big horse in the movie, wasn't it?

Alright, here's what I got for a response so far.

Police Horses:

The last one is probably the best comparison, because the horse is holding it's head fairly upright and it's a male rider. Perhaps what might help is to slide Scarecrow and the saddle up closer to the neck of the horse.

I do think the fact that the Dragon hose has it's head so upright makes it look a lot more "statuesque". I kind of wish it's head was bowed.

There is a scene in BB where you can see a full shot of one of the police horses. Gonna see if I can find it...

What I love about the horse - apart from the articulation - is its hair and detailing.

I agree. I like the detailing and the "real" mane. A plastic mane would ruin it.

And I'm always a fan of articulation. It took a while to find a natural pose for the legs, but that process always increses my appreciation for a display for some reason. :)

Ah yes. That's what's throwing me off. He really needs to have the suit-coat on. Looks weird without it. Just keep the shirt and tie off.

Glad you didn't bust any snaps. :)

That's the suit. Hand pegs fit HT and SSC hands. Those are SSC Red Ninja hands in my Scarecrow pic. I'm actually not using that suit any more. If you're looking for one PM me.

Nice horsey display!

Thanks. :)

P.M. sent! :panic:

Weird, I had the opposite reaction to Scarecrow's suit... was nicely fitted and much better than the crappy suit used for Harvey.

And the TT is just a TT... not worse or better.

Yeah, a True Type is a True Type is a True Type.

If the joints are loose, just tighten them.

Though, I was more excited and satisfied with my MJ Beat It figure.

I have to agree that the damn snaps on the Scarecrow are pathetic. Lucky I'm getting a replacement though... always good to buy from a reliable seller.

It's still too bulky with the suit-coat. Before I was hell bent on keeping everything together, out of fear of snapping the snaps, but I just said ____ it and went to work (and thankfully didn't mess up anything).

I'm not even entirely sure if he has the coat and tie underneath his suit anyway. There are a few pics I found where it appears he has it on (small pics of him on the horse), while others appear to not have the coat (when Gordon is chatting with him and a few production pics). I know the Movie Masters figure doesn't have a tie or a coat on, so I'm going to keep them off.

The straight jacket has a much better fit without it and I was thinking, from an Arkham employees point of view, it doesn't really make much sense to have him have all those clothes on under his straight jacket. White shirt and pants are enough for me.

I'll post better pics when I have the time, full body shots too. It isn't bad in person, and with the pants untucked out of the boots, I actually like it better than the original prototype spec pics.

It would make sense that they would not let him have a tie in the asylum.

Along with a belt, which they happily did not include (not that I'm complaining).

Oh yeah, I noticed the "missing" belt too. It doesn't concern me, because yeah, like we've speculated I doubt you'd give a patient a belt for his pants when he's in a straight jacket.

Plus, I have plenty of belts to choose from if I pursue the regular business suit look.

I honestly think the TTL suit looks better than the one HT gave us. That comes with a belt. And just use the HT tie.

Not only does it look better, I'm sure as far as quality goes it tops the Hot Toys costume too.

I saw the auction you linked to for it, and I was impressed with what I saw, it even has the bank manager head to boot. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the fact that it has a TTL body and I would prefer my Scarecrow to have a True Type.

Well that and I need to put the tie and suit coat to good use. If I play my cards right, I should be able to obtain the head, body, connector white shirt and pants for a relatively good price. If I can somehow do that, I'll be content. Even if I were to go the TTL route, it would be about the same since the Scarecrow head is pricey.

The only thing that bothers me about that TTL suit is the damn buttons on the jacket are on the wrong side, I mean WTF

I'm a stickler for accuracy and I just know that will bug me to death

Still thinking of getting it to replace my Harvey suit as it is the correct 3 button jacket for Harvey/two face

You can take consolation in the fact that you got it for less than most of the rest of us did.

The thought and desire of owning a regular business suit version has also been growing in my mind.

I know what you mean - I convinced myself to pick up a 2nd Scarecrow for that reason. I had already been working on a TDK Scarecrow (before this one was released) and just needed the mask for a business suit version.

So I picked up a 2nd Scarecrow, used the mask for my TDK business suit version, and used the Hot Toys suit and body for a Jonathan Crane custom.

I saw the auction you linked to for it, and I was impressed with what I saw, it even has the bank manager head to boot. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the fact that it has a TTL body and I would prefer my Scarecrow to have a True Type.

Are you interested in everything in that auction except the actual body? I might be willing to get one and send you the clothes and head (in case you want to bash the bank manager), since I need a body for a custom.

I don't think the buttons will bother me at all. I just think this suit looks fantastic. I know I sound like a broken record, but accuracy is way down the list of what's important to me. If it looks good on the shelf and it "feels" like the character I like it.

Again, I will love this:
