Re: The Man of Steel

I just don't see Wilde as Lois. Lily I could see but she was so fanboy rumored the last time around I wonder if that hurts her chances.

Never got the whole fascination with wilde... shes kinda overrated... plus she kinda has a 5 head.

Re: The Man of Steel

I think Minka Kelly would be a perfect Lois but I doubt even though she is hot right now she has the pull to even appear on the radar for Synder, especially considering she is basically limited to tv cameos, a movie out that looks like it'll tank and a part in an attempted Charlie's Angel revival I have a feeling she'll be looked over no problem. With Henry Cavill being fasted as Superman I would imagine that WB wants a name to go with their franchise in some regard whether that be Lois or whomever the villain is

Warner Bros. is narrowing the search for a female lead to star opposite Henry Cavill in Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Superman, and three names have emerged, all of which moot previous shortlist stories. Alice Eve, Diane Kruger and Rosamund Pike are said to be the top choices. But there’s a new wrinkle: the role the studio is looking to cast is not Lois Lane.

Variety has the report, and says that the studio doesn’t want someone who might overshadow Henry Cavill. In other words, someone well-established (like the previously rumored Rachel McAdams) isn’t going to get the job.

With big roles in the National Treasure movies and Inglourious Basterds, you’d think that Diane Kruger would also be out, but evidently she makes the cut. Alice Eve flirted with superhero roles when she was in contention for gigs in X-Men: First Class and Captain America. And Rosamund Pike kicked off her film career in a big way with a role as a Bond girl in Die Another Day (a relatively good Bond girl, too ) but then went towards more indie fare. She did a great job in An Education, for instance.

If WB and Zack Snyder are really going the ‘icy blonde’ route, I’ve just got three words: Rosamund Pike, please. But my gut says the choice will be Alice Eve.

And if this isn’t Lois Lane, who is it? Lana Lang is the name that leaps to mind — she being something like Superman’s Gwen Stacy — but it could be someone else, I suppose. Variety doesn’t explicitly say that Lois Lane is not in the film, but does say that this role being cast is the female lead.

A villain role will be cast soon, too, but we don’t have a list of possible actors there, nor a name for the character.

Re: The Man of Steel

Pike is awesome. She's been awesome since Die Another Day. One of the very, very, very few things good about that....thing.

Could Doomsday Feature In Zack Snyder's Superman?

Nothing too solid here, but there are "whispers" of the hard as nails Superman villain popping up in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot..
In an article detailing the latest actresses mentioned in connection with the female lead in Superman, Cinematical offer the following..

Meanwhile, the hunt is also on for the film's villain. No word on whether we'll see yet another Lex Luthor storyline, though we would expect some bigger things, like maybe the inclusion of Doomsday (which is a character we've heard some whispering about). With production set to begin this summer, expect a lot more Man of Steel news to hit in the coming weeks.

Could Jessica Biel Be A Front-Runner For A Role In Superman Reboot?

Ain't It Cool News' Harry Knowles was tipped an interesting bit of info, though not assuring, which may not only confirm that Biel is in the running, but as a front-runner. Harry says verbatim:

Received an e-mail overnight-its sender details sighting Zack Snyder and Jessica Biel heading into a sit down meal at a restaurant I won't specify herein (the sender did tell me the name of the place, how he/she chanced across them, and said he/she spotted director and actress yesterday - Tuesday). Ironically, the sender said he/she recognized Zack instantly but took a few moments to track on Ms. Biel.

I wouldn't count on Doomsday in the flick, but that is just me. Then again, wasn't expecting Bane in TDKR, so :dunno

Re: The Man of Steel

Unless they're ready to commit to a multi-movie Death/Rebirth story, I don't want Doomsday.

Re: The Man of Steel

Doomsday doesn't make sense unless its the second film where Superman dies and comes bakc in the third one.

Re: The Man of Steel

Start with Doomsday and there is nowhere to go, you just killed Superman. I mean even if Doomsday doesn't, who could he possibly fight that would compare in a sequel? It would be Indy survining the Nuke all over again.

Re: The Man of Steel

I think they should bring in Lobo, Parasite, Bizarro or other types of villains for this movie. Assuming this will be trilogy, they should then bring in Doomsday for #2 and then Darkseid for #3. They should mention something about Darkseid in the background controlling Doomsday during the events of movie #2.

Re: The Man of Steel

:lol all of you comic book nerds need to start thinking fourth dimensionally (I know you are CBNs we can smell our own ;)) Doomsday was used in Smallville without killing Clark. Domsday could easily be written in without including the Superman Death storyline, it'd be nice to have an original storyline inspired by but not directly copying an arc.

Interesting though that the 90s "Earth Shattering Storylines" in both Batman and Superman seem to be taking centerstage in some form.

Re: The Man of Steel

I cant see killing Superman is good from any angle.
It stunk in the comic and in the cartoon.
