After reading that, it seems to me that as long as you're not a Neilsen family, it doesn't matter. Your online viewing counts for something, just not much, same with the DVR. 20,000 people are determining what shows are cancelled or kept, and I rarely agree with them.

The simple truth to me is that people are more pressed for time and can't or don't want to waste an hour watching a show that without commercials that is a little over 40 minutes long. It is so much easier to watch a show on DVR and save that extra 20 minutes for other things.

Commercials are a pain in the ass and don't sell me on anything that I don't need. I understand the TV needs them for revenue but that shouldn't mean that I need to watch them if I don't want to. That is why I hate streaming shows online as they have their embedded ads that you can't bypass.

C'mon ya gotta love Flo from the Progressive Insurance commercials???:peace

I lost interest within the first paragraph. What the hell is this trying to prove or explain?

It's just nerd stuff Mike. Don't even bother with this fruity ____. Let's go to the strip club and get our drink on like normal men. And bring some of those fine ass model _____es too.

Didn't click the link, but I figured all the fancy cable boxes of the world made Nielson obsolete. Surely Cable and Satellite companies are collecting data on viewing habits for their own purposes. To rely on the outdated Nielson sampling process to determine "popularity" seems archaic and unnecessary. They don't even need to sample anymore.

Anyways. . .

Has anyone ever been part of or ever met a "Neilsen family" member!? I've always heard about them, but never met a single person who participated in that or knew anyone who participated in that.

And I know a lot of people. Who know even more a lot of people. And that's a lot of people to be knowing, and that are known. Knowatimsayin?

Do cable boxes still have cameras in them that watch you while you watch tv in the nude?

I am, but not for TV. I'm for retail buying. I record everything that I buy. Groceries, clothes, anything. I have a scanner that I use then I get points that I can get things from a catalog. I have to log in once a week and transmit what's on my scanner. They also have contests a lot.

Since there's only 20,000 Neilsen familes, the chance of you knowing one is rather slim.

So you know it's a good time.

Huh archaic and unnecessary....it must be the status quo.

Has anyone ever been part of or ever met a "Neilsen family" member!?

Just one.

Rest in peace buddy.

Do cable boxes still have cameras in them that watch you while you watch tv in the nude?

That would explain a lot....and why when I'm on hold at DISH Network they always play "Mr. Big Stuff" for my hold music.
