What happens if I do that and they both convert (as unlikely as that is), would they give me the chance to back out of one of them?

Sorry for all these questions but I'm pretty new to collecting and have never ordered from sideshow directly.
So when you get on the waitlist, is there a time when they tell you that it's completely sold out and there is no point in waiting?
Because I notice they still have a waitlist you can get on for the Captain America PF and that has been sold out for years?

usually in the weekly newsletter there will be a list of stuff at the bottom that sideshow is either taking waitlists or have closed them

Yes, they will cancel your order eventually. However, this could take awhile. If you wait more than a month or 2, then you run the risk of the piece you want rising in price. It's a pain to pick up these pieces in the aftermarket. Trust me, I know!
