After the last two SW ordering fiascos (personally speaking), I fear for pretty much any good Mondo posters going forward.

Too many mofos (read flippers) know about Mondo now. :panic:

Same. That's why I don't feel so great with things like Hellboy and Hellboy II.

You mean the Space Jockey one and the Egg one? I have the Space Jockey one, and think it is quite amazing. I love the graphic presentation of the piece, and the SJ is one of my favorite things about the original film. I do seem to always pass on the Egg though, so I must not like it as much.

Do you mean the Derelict interior depicting the Space Jockey? I love it.

Speaking of these posters, I have a nagging question since I don't know that much about Mondo and their history. I am a patron of Gallery 1988, mostly due to collecting Luke Chueh. That is how I came to find out about the Ken Taylor Alien prints, and they were kind enough to allow me to buy one through email since I am in Vegas and they in L.A. Anyway, were these Alien posters offered through Mondo? Were they a separate edition? Mine says #73/85 in pencil on the lower right, but is that all there really are? Man, I love this print.

Yeah, I should have said Nostromo crew poster as I'm really drawn by the profiles of Ripley, Kane, and Dallas on the left side of the print. It's the second one Taylor did as the first was the Alien egg one of which there was a regular and a glow in the dark variant. The Space Jockey is only an edition of 85 and was only available at a screening of the film I believe. My friend had to get his off of ebay.

yeh. i feel ya. i missed out on stout and olly moss. no biggy though as i really am anticipating the universal monster stuff. hopefully i will be able to score a frankenstein and dracula in the least. what do you guys think??? will the last couple of sales make it harder to get other non star wars stuff??

I would like to get a uni monster piece. So I hope not but I feelnthat since these are so popular now and more so cause of SW and the $$$ people are getting everything is gonna be a _____.

Space Jockey was a Gallery 1988 exclusive along with the Cooper Gremlins print. The egg was a standard Mondo website release. All three are technically for a screening of the film, but I have no idea if any were actually sold at the screening.

Unless something just looks completely ____ty, it is going to be an instant sell out at this point. The good thing is, most people will be dumping these on ebay and probably for reasonable prices since they won't be as flippable.

I was monitoring the site from about 1230am and was watching the price is right when I noticed the variants going up.. and it was a good 2 mins before the regular set appeared. Once added to the cart it really did take 2-3mins of confirming order/shipping info before I got a confirmation.. I was sweating it.

Looking forward to Stout's take on "Meatballs". Imagine the possibilities.

I think I will try to get a Ken Taylor Space Jockey/Nostromo Crew print the next time I see one one ebay. It's one of my favorites.

It's great in person. I wish it glowed in the dark.

My friend has it on his wall so I get to see it a lot, but I need one for myself so I can experience its awesomeness at all times.:lol

I'd really like to have a few posters to represent the Alien, Predator, and Terminator franchises. They're my holy trinity.

Does he have the T2? That is another beautiful print. I wish I had been able to score a metal one, but I found out about it too late.

Actually he has my T2 print. On sale day we both tried for it. He missed out and I got one so I just gave him the print as he's the bigger poster fan.

Nice. I bought mine in store so I didn't have to deal with the site craziness that day. I wasn't happy about the fact that they acted as if they still had some metal prints left the day I went, which is why I drove up there, but when I actually got there and was first in line when they opened, they realized they had sold out the night before. It took a bit for them to confirm it though, since they had some sitting there, but they were apparently reserved. I think they ended up overselling the regulars on the site the next day, so at least I was able to get one of those stress free.

Probably but that's why I hope they raise the ES. Not crazy high but high enough to kill a good deal of the flipping market.

I got my confirmation email with order number but my payment screen froze during checkout. It says that I'm going to pay with CC on my confirmation. Hope my order goes through. :panic:

It's crazy that an edition size like this is selling so high. That T2 print that Bannister and I were discussing was only a run of 120 and that was released just earlier this year. I know it's not Star Wars, but Terminator is still a pretty high profile franchise. I've taken notice that just recently all the craziness surrounding these posters has really taken off. It seemed overnight that the Tyler Stout earlier releases started going for prices in the thousands.

They are used to doing very limited print runs, and with all the attention I don't know if they can go back to how it was. I think that the limited releases are what makes these prints so successful, however, and no matter what, somebody is going to miss out who wanted to have one. It's happened to me with a few releases, but I think it's a part of that hobby.

There's already 3 pages of the Stout set on Ebay. Limited runs are great in theory but for collectors and fans who are not planning to sell their stuff it can be a pain...

But really, they only need an es that high on something like Star Wars. 300 is more than enough to go around on something like a Universal Monsters piece.

Yeah, I grabbed the Iron Man 2 print off eBay for $125. Now, I don't think I could touch it for that. At some point people will walk away if it becomes 2 much work to get these.

and the T2 doesn't exactly go for mega bucks and to me it is one of the nicest looking prints out there. It really is only certain prints from the more popular artists that are going for real money.
