This is Magnoli Clothier's Sallah tie:

I wonder if you could PRINT that on material at scale?

Even on paper if one had to and then afix it to a tie.

This is awesome, Les!:clap It's great to really see it all come together and to finally see the head painted! Even more excited now! :rock

Anyway, Indy and Sallah? I'll see what I can do. Indy is suffering from...an affliction. He is shedding his paint. Slowly. He shines. Some kind of bad reaction to the paint, on the part of the plastic Sideshow used on that one. One of my favorite paints ever, wasting away slowly.
I'll post a pic soon, but just know, Indy isn't feverish, he's molting.
Got to solve that soon.

ahhhhh!!!!! ive been having the same problem! shiny head indy is not a good look! but its only on the hatted sculpt, but its happened to 2 seperate heads. what are you going to do to combat this Les? im out of ideas

:gah:

I thought it was just my dumb luck but I've seen its happened to mine too. I even went so far as to strip them completely with acetone and start fresh. Started painting up one with model masters and there was a definite sheen already coming through so I finished off with the cheap apple barrel acrylics (yes THOSE) because they tend to dry very flat. I don't usually prime plastic heads but I may give that a shot as well.:dunno

I just wanted to say how fun this custom and thread have been. It's really nice to be part of such a positive project with so many creative folks. It almost a shame that more sections of this board don't work together in such a way all the time.

And Les, it's just awesome to see you enjoying what you're doing. I'm sure much of that has to do with making this figure for yourself. Nice to see the legend get back in the saddle. :rock

And a Marion project would be awesome! :rock Raiders could just about be put to bed at that point.

Well, there's always going to be more. I don't have a Dietrich or Marcus (though his role in Raiders is pretty small) or Satipo, but the core characters would be accounted for, Indy, Marion, Sallah, Belloq, Toht.... I mean, you could always try for characters like Jock, Gobbler, Monkeyman or Katenga.... Hmm, Monkeyman....

German Mechanic..... Cairo Swordsman.... I guess when it comes down to it If my entire collection went from what it is now to just Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars A New Hope I would be pretty damn happy, since those are at the core of my fandom.

Ditto! The bar version is just fine by me as well.

Well said. No need for nitpicking and bickering. This is just pure fun for the love of a special movie.

I'd kill for a 1/6 Monkey Man. Would love to make him. The striped robe has always been the problematic element.

And a German Mechanic is almost a must-have as much as Dietrich... but that unique body type holds that custom back. I have one I built on a wrestler body about 10 years ago but it doesn't hold up to today's levels. It's very 'Hasbro'.

:lecture That's the one version we've never got in 3 3/4" over the years.

This is true. At this point I'm pretty much sick of the red/whiteCairo attire. Not really sure why. Really wish that last Raiders wave came out, but then I never even saw the ToD guys. They handled that line about as poorly as some other compamy... :tap

I'd take a hit or two in costume accuracy just for the sake of having Marion on the shelf. Would dig Monkeyman too if he could be done for cheap like Sallah.

The Mechanic would be pie if he were cut and toned but he's not. He's just BIG! At this point I'm eyeing the Thugge taskmaster who seems slightly more feasible cause there is more clothing to hide the upper body. Though to be completely honest if had to pick one Pat Roach character to have in figure form it wouldn't be from Indy it'd be General Kael from Willow. Whole different topic there though.

This guy would rock on the shelf. The colors. The monkey. The eye patch.

All parts are fairly easy like Sallah... it's just that damn purple-blue striped robe. Would have to be made. It's not a real difficult pattern but definitely would have to be custom. Just nothing out there that's even close.

I forgot about the striped robe he wears. Too bad, he was a really colorful looking villain.... Not to change the subject at all but that's what KOTCS was lacking more than anything, colorful villains. Raiders was FULL of them.... Toht, Swordsman, Monkeyman, Sherpa thugs, German Mechanic, etc.

I think you can score the TOD figs pretty cheap now... They were by far the nicest line. I need to take those figures down and display them all.

I wonder if anyone has ever attempted a Marion sculpt? You'd think there would be some kind of market for it.

Oh crap, I think I want in on this. Is it too late? Also I believe Toy Anxiety has the ability to make ties. just sayin'. :dunno
