i think the droids look great... i am not even concerned about their scale in comparison to SST (if we can make Vader work, anything is possible)... my problem is their scale in relation to each other... the icon imagery, in my opinion, is lost on this...

Personally I think Medi has outdone themselves on these two. They are the nicest looking figures I've seen them make and the light up features are great and something I don't ever see SS doing even if they make them.
Scale issue aside I just don't see anything wrong with them after watching that video. I'm really curious to see these next to some SS figures.

I agree. Guess we'll have to see

Wow.I was liking these until I saw that comparison pic.3PO's head is way off and the scale between the 2 is off as well. Turned me off to them. I guess its better for me.I'll get them when they drop below retail(maybe).

I'm waiting for SS to do Boba and the droids. i think they will do a bit better job on them in sculpt compared to Medicom. I would be totally satisfied if SSC did Threepio in a metalish gold finish(ESB version) rather then chromed, i have no doubt also that SSC would pack in accessories for R2.

Well I'm still buying them. Height and detail issues aside, they still look amazing IMO.
I think SS will have problems meeting fan boy expectations when their's come around. Sure they'll be nicely scaled, I'm in no doubt, however overall, I don't see anything from their past figures to suggest they will blow Medicoms efforts out of the water as some seem to think...But prove me wrong Sideshow...and preferably before I commit to buying these!

I daresay that everyone will still say that the Sideshow ones are better, even if they patently aren't, like the rubbish-helmet Vader that is apparently "better" simply because it's taller.

Oh well, it's a Sideshow dominated board.

On Mediworld I'm sure their version of Vader is apparently better simply because it's made by Medicom.

i have to be honest and say i love the medicom vader but i had to get the sideshow version coz of the size!!:cuckoo:

That would be just as tragic, but yes, you're probably right.

i'll be buying them too. if and when ss decides to get around to doing them, i may be 80 years old. but recently ss has recruited hot toys on their troopers, so i'm hoping the quality will improve. how about a chewy!!!!!!!!!!!

R2 is here!!!
Honestly, despite the height it's amazing!!!
Yeah it has some inaccuracies, but I'm not that nitpicky!
Anybody who thinks Hasbro's is better is crazy!!
Quick pics, sorry about the crappy quality and lighting...

It's an amazing piece, greatly designed, and lots of detail.
It's definitely not worth the price tag, but I'm glad I scored one without box for cheap.
Might not be in scale, but definitely one of the best R2 rendition out there!!
I'm just waiting for 3PO now!
:rock!

awesome pics, man. He looks great. I'm not gonna hesitate in picking up one of these guys neither

Yep, seriously R2 is amazing! I love it!
I should be getting 3PO next week!

Looks great, Kuzeh! R2 looks very well done.

It's REALLY great quality! The metallic blue-paint is awesome!

If I was in ANY doubt...SOLD!!
Top pics Kuzeh. Congrats dude:hi5:

Thanks dude! :hi5:

Wow, he looks smaller than I thought he would when next to a 12 inch figure. Very nicely done, but tiny!

Sean

Yes, he's short, but I'll be displaying him next to a Medi Jawa, so I don't care!!! :lol!
