well i don't know :dunno since i've never seen one in person.
i do have to say though that they shed a new light some old statues (or new ones:wink1:) and i can see both side of the debate.

Yeah, have not seen one yet in person but they sure look good from the pics! : )

Who the blasted tartarus is Lottie Kanama(Inventory Coordinator)!?....

i was like "are we suppose to know this name" but i think i recognize the name from the latest ssc emailings. either way she keeps trying to sell me stuff, fak off already if i wanted it i would've of bought it.:nana:

Its kinda weird that Sideshow is begging, well I feel like theyre begging, to use Flex after I outright cancelled the Ex. Have they ever done that before?

It's interesting that they offered me an EX, though. I know I cancelled way back in June(?). I'm interested but I prefer the regular. Now if it was the Gambit PF EX......:gun

the biggest gripe ppl have is that too much muscle definition is hidden underneath the cloth. Overall this piece looks great, and seeing as i will prolly get the future brown costume pf, this may be a piece i pick up way way down the road, after the comi is released.

I hope they improve on the cloth parts if they do the brown costume version. Hate the ugly cloth on this guy, may have to strip him.

yeah they're offering me the EX. also even though i've already gotten one. i wonder if i replied that i'd take one, if they'd say "oh sorry we see you've already received an EX. version and only one is allowed per household":gah:

Love all three pieces that have been released over the last month. Wolvie, Sabes, and Gambit all look great. I don't understand some of the comments on this board about the cloth. Sabes looks exactly like he did in the preview shots 7 months ago. If you didn't like the cloth then you should not have bought it. What did you think SS was going to do, show preview pictures and then change the fabric and make him chiseled using tighter cloth. I have not problem with people giving their opinion, but come on. Some of you are acting like it looks 100% different than what you ordered. I love it and can't wait for the rest of the X-Men in PF.

Newe82, I'm not trying to flame you....but I'd like to make a few points:

1) A number of folks were complaining about the fabric since the reveal pics. IMHO it was the number one complaint that surfaced from the beginning.

2) Are you really surprised that in hand pics would not cause additional comments regarding the fabric? Sometimes you may have some doubts about a given piece, but you want to see the in hand pics to really see if your concerns are valid. The in hand pics have confirmed some of the concerns and fears regarding this piece.

3) If you are happy with your purchase then who cares what anyone else thinks? If you like the piece...that's fine. If others don't like the piece and want to voice their disapproval...that's fine too.

:exactly::exactly::exactly:

Ah kk, so you think the conversions look better than the originals?

well i don't know :dunno since i've never seen one in person.
i do have to say though that they shed a new light some old statues (or new ones:wink1:) and i can see both side of the debate.

that's the deal with me, it's not about it looking better than the OG's, I would actually need two pairs of Wolverine's and Sabretooth's because I demolished a pair of OG's to have non cloths versions.

So yes, it would take 4 PF's before I could be happy with myself in destroying the cloth.

I don't think anyone has really touch on that subject that some collectors would not like the originals alter because hence therefore they are not OG.

I think the point of the whole debate is, EVERYONE (or at least 95% of us) would be fully satisfied with 1/4 scale Comiquettes. If these exact same pieces had been fully sculpted, you probably wouldn't hear anyone saying, "Damnit, I wish these had pajamas on". We would all be floored, and SS wouldn't be begging us to buy these pieces. As it is, there is a large percentage of potential buyers who DO have a problem with the cloth, and that made dumping this piece in favor of other pieces that much easier. I dumped my Wolvie and ST Excl orders, and I'm getting the same email regarding ST that everyone else is getting.

All you have to do is take a long hard look at the 'tooth on the Wolvie vs. ST dio, and then look at this, and imagine what could have been.

Anybody's Sabretooth has this problem where the left foot does not sit flush with the base or is it meant to be that way?

I don't think the dio looks leaps and bounds better than the PF. I also prefer the clothed Captain America vs. the converted one.

In my opinion Sabretooth not selling well is more about the amount of products released at the moment. He is also not a main character so would more likely get the ax before Wolverine or Iron Man. Certain characters take longer to sell out whether they have PJs or not. Iron Spider-Man and Back in Black Spider-Man are two 100% sculpted pieces that look amazing yet you can still find them available at Sideshow.

If the pajama argument was the case why didn't we receive the same emails begging us to buy Wolverine? Also the Gambit PF (who is mostly sculpted) has been getting nothing but praise yet my order converted a few days after I put myself on the waitlist. It is much too early to say that Sabretooth didn't sell out mainly due to his PJs.

Ok point by point

1.) Keep beating the dead horse about the fabric. Let's complain and complain and complain and complain and complain about the fabric for seven months like it is going to make a difference. If you have not liked it from the beginning then move onto something different. Should we really be hearing the same complaints seven months later.

2.) Yes I am surprised. The in hand pics look exactly like the preview pics. Different angles don't make a difference in how the statue is going to look. WHAT CONCERNS ARE THERE WITH THIS STATUE? It has fabric, OMG I had no idea!!!!

3.) I could give a S@#t what other people think of this statue. One comment would be fine, but i see the same pissing and moaning from the same people over and over and over and over. Make your point and move on. I don't really like the Ms. Marvel statue so what sense does it make for me to go in and complain constantly about it. It is what it is.

These statues are 3D art pieces. I would never go into an art gallery and constantly complain about the pieces I don't like. :gah:

Let me ask you this, if you have a problem with folks continuing to beat a dead horse regarding the fabric. Should we also have a problem with the folks who relentless praise this piece and tell others the fabric is not an issue? Should we have a problem with people posting on multiple occasions how great this statue is? Should we have a problem with folks who post multiple posts complaining that others are still complaining about the fabric??? I'm not big into double standards, so if you don't want to folks to post multiple times regarding what they don't like about a piece, then let's tell everyone who likes this piece or doesn't want to hear any more complaints regarding the fabric that they are not allowed to beat a dead horse either.

If you don't see the value of in hand pics over reveal pics...then you are certainly entitled to your opinion. Personally, there have been pieces that did not impress me based on the reveal pics. But a few in hand shots made all the difference in the world. So I'm sorry if I cannot make 100% of my purchasing decisions based on the reveal pics. Some of us need, and like, to see the reveal pics before making a final decision to post. I would be willing to bet I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Lastly if you don't give a @hit about what others think about this statue then why the hell did you comment in the first place? If you don't care about what others think about this piece, then don't worry about if they complain about the fabric or not. People are free to comment about what they want, if you don't like it then don't read the posts or don't visit certain threads.

So you get tired of reading the same folks pissing and moaning about stuff? I get tired of people pissing and moaning about how many times people should post about a certain topic. If you don't like the comments regarding the fabric then go read another thread. If I feel that a thread is no contains productive commentary regarding a piece, I simply go elsewhere. It's easier than trying to tell everyone what to post or how many times they should post certain comments.

This thread is starting to venture into that "non-productive" area....I apologize to everyone for hi-jacking the thread.

that doesnt mean jack to me. I got the Wolvie pf, but I thought the SW Talon pf looked so much better, so i dumped him for her, look at the prices she has gone for on ebay and she is no where near as popular as even Sabertooth, but I can say if Sabes had no cloth, i would have defn gotten him, and theres a good chance i would have kept Wolvie. I defn was not a fan of the iron on decals, and so im hoping the Brown version wont have anything like that, which made dumping the yellow/blue easier for me. The only Marvel pf I have ever been truly satisfied with is the Classic Spidey pf, hence the only Marvel pf in the collection at the moment.
