Anyway... how do you open the battery compartment?? I can figure it out!

The bike is awesome and very well made.

To open the battery compartment you need to use something to push in the tiny circle and then slide the cover back. The little button is where you would usually find a screw if the cover had one holding it in.

Thanks RodChester.. I did push that little botton but didn't know to slide it. I guess I need to use a paper clip.

Well this is just great. UPS has delayed my delivery because of rain. It is sitting at a sorting facility in Columbus. That's about 30 minutes from my house. Today's Saturday, Kaneda and bike are 30 minutes away, but they won't deliver it till next Wednesday?

Yes... good question. I leave mine out of the box for pictures (later this week), and then it's back into the box, and up the pile with the rest of my stuff!

Oh, the sad truth. Most of my collectibles are in Detolf cases and Kaneda and his bike just laugh at those confines. Seriously, though, this is one damn beautiful piece. I had to have it when the preorders went up last year, then was a bit disheartened at some of the YouTube reviews as it seemed a bit stale and flimsy - however, as Akira remains one of my beloved obsessions, I held fast. And when the bike and its accessory (Kaneda) finally arrived, opening it was like opening the Ark of the Covenant. I couldn't believe the sturdy construction and cleans lines. The diecast metal epicness cannot be appreciated unless in hand. I cant stop staring at it. Haven't even opened Kaneda yet to see how he fits (actually waiting for my 3AA Tomorrow Queen complete with red latex to be first rider). If you have the opportunity and the dough, go for it.

you can contact their customer service, they are pretty good at replying your questions. And in general, BBTS seems to get their share within a week of SSC's shipping.
