So guys, price? I, like RoboDad hope they will be under $200, but hard to tell at this stage I suppose.

And just when I thought I had my collection figured out, Sideshow throws this spanner in the works! :lol (Not that i'm complaining :D)

I can see these selling in the $175-200 range easy. Perhaps even more for some to the more intricate maquettes such as the Gondorian Boromir. The $125 prices from 5 years ago aren't going to apply here. Look no further than Weta's Argonath release to see that prices don't remain the same forever.

if they are like other maquette lines i'm guessing $250. the buffy maquette cost that much.

Other maquette lines are either 1/4 or 1/5 scale.....at 1/6 scale these will be cheaper than either of those.

I would agree and say $175 more likely $200 for an average. Although he is vertically challenged in his own right the punisher maquette was $250. So, I can't imagine the 1/6 costing more than $200. I'm sure some pieces will be a bit higher, but thats my guess for an average cost.

Man I still can't believe this announcement. I like the PF line, but at the same time if these are going to be nice quality you can get more statues for your buck.. ACK CURSE YOU SIDESHOW!!!!

If SS releases these at the same rate they're releasing their PF's, dio's and LSB's you'll have plenty of time to save up. :monkey3

Wow, Boromir and Gimli sketches look especially awesome. I think this line is a way of bringing LOTR up again, and should be great news for any fan. Can't wait for Aragorn, Arwen and Gimli

I'll give you a QFT on that, but I have a decent amount pre-ordered at the moment and I really shouldn't add to the list

but i do give in to peer pressure quite easily :lol

Yup the weta's line is what originally got me collecting statues to begin with. Granted at the time the movies were going full steam, but these are priced a "little" better for a more casual collector to jump on board.

meh. they'll release about 2 a year for the first 2 years then after they are all sitting on second chance cuz of the $250 price point, they'll drop the line and go back to Star Wars. anybody who disagrees with this is a SS newb.

I am completely thrilled at this announcement (shocker right :lol), but at the same time cautiously optimistic:

1) The PFs have really impressed me so far, and I really hope that Sideshow doesn't release these to the detriment of an already "slow" line.

2) I have a large percentage of the existing 1/6 line, and really wouldn't consider the Gandalf, Strider (which to me look vastly superior in their PF forms), Gimli or Legolas (again with the PF); but I would like to get Arwen and the armored Boromir.

3) But even those that I would purchase mentioned above, I would much prefer as PFs

It will really take something special to make me want to replace or add to my current collection of 1/6 statues - which as of now is around 110 pieces in total (SSW in sum).

I think it more accurate to say anybody who disagrees isn't a jilted doll lover.......:monkey3

I'm not too keen on the Gimli pose.

Anyway, it's a wait and see for me on these. I just hope they don't abandon the PF line now. Though I think these will look awesome, there's just something special about PFs with their mixed media.

Looking at storm's pics, I'm not too sure about the Boromir one either simply because all these others seem to be more on a "base" and Boromir has that piece of wall in behind him. I think they should lose that.

This announcement sure came out of nowhere. It sure looks like they've got some great ideas brewing. I was never big on the figures and the PFs have been hit or miss, but this looks like it could be a cool line.

I thought I'd upsize those pic's previously posted. :D
