I might be selling mine before Christmas, what were you looking to pay for it?

Grid or Brown Warrior? MIB or loose? I'll see once I see which one I get. Hopefully it's Grid. Looks like they put 4 more for sale and got sold out this morning.

Saw T:S today.

Liked it by the way.

But, I'm curious...

In the scene where Kyle and the kid are being herded at Skynet (right before he picks up the metal scrap out of the wall), who the hell are the "people" standing in the window up high, looking out over everyone?

They appear to be "human", and there's at least one female there.

Any thoughts?

They seem to be scientists (human slaves) that SkyNet uses to help develop the technology it needs.

In TSCC, Skynet used a human pschologist to develop its pschology files to improve its Terminators. A great scene where several T-888s watch the guy explain how parts of the mind worked. Although it's a seperate continuity I imagine it would be the same for the main one...

Seeing as how an old man beat the P2 Pred, I vote ALIEN.

(As if I was going to vote otherwhise......)

glover got lucky though. It seems to me that when ever a person wants to stand toe to toe with a predator they get all cocky and kind of play with them rather than beat them down quick and finish them off.:banghead

But thats hollywood for you, they cant kill the hero :duh

As someone else said Predator 2 was killed by and old black guy :lol

Alien Queen on the other hand they didn't technically kill her, she still maybe alive :horror

I certainly hope not.If they use that as a plot for future AVP movies
I wont even bother with that francise anymore, not that the AVP movies were that good anyway
I hate the predator in the first AVP he looks like Jay Leno with that massive chin, dreadful.

Looking at this picture, this is the 1st time it occurred to me.
I wonder if the dome is the main reason why aliens can survive for an undetermined amount of time in a vacuum (or under water).

It looks just like a built in astronaut's helmet/visor.
All the alien has to do is breath the air trapped inside the dome. Meaning, what we think are it's brains are really some sort of lungs and sensory organ.

Note that the aliens born on planetoids or oxygen rich environment (ALIENS and AVP:R) did not need the dome, so they're the ones with the rigid heads.
I know this argument contradicts itself when you think of A3 and AVP.
However, we don't know if the air quality or temperature at Fury 161 and the Antarctic had something to do with them keeping their transparent domes.

What do you think?

they actually removed the dome in Aliens because it was a safety hazard for the actors in the suit while they were jumping around and it was also too costly to have so many hero suits with domes. It has nothing to do with climate what ever.but since were making up stuff as we go,what if the aliens dont breathe air.
If you read the paper back of the script adapted novel of aliens they actually go into detail more about how they sustain theyre life in that situation.as you may know from aliens they nest in places that are hot.the reason they do this is because they go into hybernation when their food source depleats.their blood which is acid:duh
mixed with the heat and humdity in their nest acts like a battery so they can sustain life during these hybernations:banana

That's the first I've heard that one. I thought it was common knowledge that Cameron wanted them removed cos he thought the skull-look was more interesting.

To quote, and confirm once and for all:

"....Winston and Cameron had settled on some subtle design changes, including doing away with the translucent cowl that had covered the alien's head in the first film. "We planned to do the same thing with ours," said Cameron, "and to that end Stan had Tom Woodruff sculpt up a ribbed, bone-like understructure that wold fit underneath and be slightly visible trough the cowl. When it was finished, they gave it a real nice paint job, and I took a look at it, and said, "Hey, this looks much more interesting the way it is." So we pitched the cowl and decided that this was just another generation of aliens - slightly mutated."

There was no other reason to it, I know that some have been speculating that it was due to budget, or the safety, or some third reason, but no.....both Cameron and Winston simply thought that this design is more interesting..

In my opinion, Alien with dome has more presence then Warriors. :D

* Why does the T-1000- bother to shoot the T-800 with his Beretta in the mall - it must know that 9mm rounds will do little damage?

* What was the difference between the T-800 and the T-850?

1.) It makes little damage, but it's still damage (it ruins T-800 disguise revealing his Endoskeleton making his job to "infiltrate among human" much harder), plus, his mission is to kill John Connor, my guess is that T-1000 is set/concentrated on this mission and simply uses all means he has at given moment to overcome obstacles..

2.)T-850 is upgraded with dual hydrogen fuel cells, he's "chassis" is improved, he can self-restart.....don't know if there is anything more to it..

I think some events in time are fixed, a great example of this in the Terminator universe is John's Scar. No matter what happens he will always get the scar, timelines, events and characters no matter how vastly changed won't effect him getting the scar. Example, in T-2 Judgement Day happened in 1997. T-S Judgement Day happened in 2004, yet the scar remains shape and all!

Another example is Heroes, TWO incarnations of a character from the future both had the same scar. Im talking about Peter Petrelli, From the explosion timeline and exposed timeline he had the scar. Yet, events that led up to these alternate futures are very diffrent!

So John was always gonna have the scar! This means that if the humans won the war on machines once, they maybe able to do it again! Maybe they will always win! (Hopefully Not :borg)

I give you the best questions, right? Does the Rocky theme still go in your head when I post?

In Aliens Burke tells Ripley over the "telephone" that he gives his word that they are going to "wipe them out, not to bring back, not to study". Was he lying? Or did he just change his mind when they discovered the facehugger specimens that Bishop was studying?

At first, but then it fades to the piano version when Micky, the trainer, dies :( when I can't think of answers :lol

I think he did not know fully what he was walking in to, like he was given options if certain scenarios played out. The one he used, a personal favourite of mine :D, the GTFO outta there one at the end :lol last ditch effort to escape

Of course he knew from the start that they would be bringing back specimens. He's the one that sent Newt's family to check out the grid reference that Ripley reported at the hearing as having a derelict alien ship. She confronted him about it right before Burke loosed the facehuggers in the room where she was sleeping with Newt.

Burke worked for the company and jumped at the chance to have "exlcusive rights" to the bioweapon license. Remember, Ripley accused Burke of planning to launch all the marines into space in their sleep so nobody could warn quarentine about the embryos she and Newt would be carrying.

Right. The T-850 was heavier because its chassis was reinforced to withstand the T-X's weapons. He also had upgraded subroutines that enabled him to use human psychology on John to properly motivate him.

Can't the T-800 restart? It did in T2. I think what you mean is that it could shut itself down to reboot.

I think some events in time are fixed, a great example of this in the Terminator universe is John's Scar.

To be perfectly realistic, no, that shouldn't occur. If the timeline changes, the original course of events that lead to the cause of his scars should not have happened. But perhaps that is why the TS scar is not the same as the T2 scars. Totally different, yet coincidental scars.

This and the Heroes thing is just a way to maintain the iconic imagery of a character regardless of timeline, though it's not very logical.

As for your answer to the TS question..... it should occur if you take FATE into account. In T1 and T2 they make it a point to stress that there's no FATE, however, that can simply be the means John uses to motivate and empower people.

* Why does the T-1000- bother to shoot the T-800 with his Beretta in the mall - it must know that 9mm rounds will do little damage?

Yeah, for me it makes little sense really. The T-1000 could have easily accomplished his mission if he'd not wasted time shooting at the T-800 with a pistol or walking in an intimidating fashion rather than running.

I guess the shooting was only done for the audience benefit to remind that the T-800 couldn't be downed by the primitive weapons of the day. But the T-1000 should really have known this and just ran at him to tackle him hand to hand. And on every occasion that he temporarily dispatched the T-800 he should have ran after John instead of strolling about. But we'd have a lesser film if it always followed what 'should' have been.

As to the T-850, aside from the film being crap, it bothered me that they didn't make any referance to the fact that he clearly looked older. It could easily have an in-universe explanation rather than asking us to pretend that he looked exactly the same.
