Well if it's not to people's liking, whatever, that's cool, but commenting on it like it's an absolute train wreck just makes no sense to me, the way some of the comments are worded, you'd think this PF came out looking like Rob Schneider or something.

I honestly don't get the extreme comments on this piece, is the pose as intense an action pose as some would like, no, but it looks fitting for the character and natural. I really don't get the big head or too skinny comments, it looks like a perfect reprsentation of Stallone as he looked during Rambo 2.

Maul, I could not agree with you more. At first, I must admit, when I saw it, I thought it was a bit skinny, but when you see the movie this is based on, the weight and head are exactly bang (pardon the pun) on the money.

From the pics, I took a close look at the face, and I think SS captured the likeness of Stallone's Rambo look.

I am buying it.

weird.. I can totally see Stallone in your avatar Maulfan but the one in your sig I can't at all. Its like there totally different sculpts there..
hm..

I dont care for people's opinions on this board.
I love this piece. Will buy it, enjoy it and make it part of my collection 100%
I was hunting down a hot toys rambo 2 fig but I am not paying $400 plus for a 12" figure.

This PF will represent my Favorite Rambo movie Perfect.

Quick Preview to get US fans of RAMBO pumped!

This is a good point and the power of lighting/photography. Again I think in hand this piece will look good. I have yet to see a decent pic of Vito Corleone (Hot Toys) whereas in person my mouth drops every time I see it.

Now i'm not saying that this PF is even in the same league as Vito but just an example of online photo's almost never doing any justice.

It seems like his neck is really elongated but its hard to tell. I think part of it is his shoulder muscle?

No, I think it is the angle that a 3 dimensional object looks like when you portray it on two dimensional surface. If you take a close look you can see how picture makes the neck and background compress together, instead of showing separation.

If you look at the high resolution version of my sig image, you can see some lighting things occurring that are throwing it off. The photo at low res gives the impression that the shadow is his jawline, but if you look at the high resolution, there's more to his jaw with a faint glow there that lines up with the glow under his chin. I also thing it's just the way the extreme highlight on the left side of his face and the shadowing on the right are making a V shape out of the midtone area of his face

I really like how the snarl turned out, I was hoping for it, I was nervous because if done wrong it could look quite silly but it really captures that way his mouth gets quite nicely.

Yes, his trapezius (shoulder muscle) is a significant part of his neck from that angle and because of the pose, that side of him is elongated and the other side would look almost too short.

This is the way I see it....

Sideshow has a reputation of releasing great looking pieces and sometimes it just doesn't look right. Remember Aragorn and the outrage about the face? I was one of the people that was very disappointed when they changed the face. After months of wait a hundreds of responses, at the end it looked okay. It went up in price and I'm looking at it right now because I'm a proud owner of it.

How about T-800? I remember how upset people were with the body saying that he was too skinny, although the face was perfect. When I got it I just added some padding to his shoulders and he looked great.

How about the pose for King Leonidas? That one received a lot of complaints and I think it is one the best PFs I have.

Yes, I have to agree that I was expecting a bit mor considering the hype and the intensity of the character but to be honest, I like the face and the expression, I like the body in general and I wish they redo the base. It also seems to me that the gun could be bigger or thicker......

Overall, I think it is a great piece and I do believe is one of those that it will look way better in person. Hopefully it will be at the Comic Con next year and I trust that Sideshow will make small changes here and there.

I got it and I haven't regret it yet......we'll see

Cheers

Bear

Chee Maul, I think I should just quote you all night long on this thread. You got if figured out exactly.

BTW, even with this lighting, he still looks rock solid. The high res images really show it differently, thanks for posting them. It should change peoples minds considerably, if not, we can buy them glasses.:lol
