Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

I'm going to say $599. I don't think this one is as big as the Dog.

Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

This piece does nothing to me...It should have been a better pose..Looks like its part of their puny Diorama line..I wander if Bannister still wants it.

Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

Here's a quick shot with no flash.

And a size comparison shot next to the Queen Alien dio.

Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

It looks like it's taking a dump. Not digging the pose at all. Love the base though, and the sculpt and paint are top notch.

Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

I love the pose! Looks like it's about to pounce on somebody in the control room after the Aliens breached the defense perimeter through the ceiling. A PF Hicks or Ripley at some point standing in front of this would be the sh-it.

Hey, Sabres, since nobody not at the Con yet, has seen the Queen in person either, how about a size comparison with a real person?

I'm not at the con...I'm just postin' pics. :D

Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

I've only got 2 PFs and and Endoskull so far and was wondering what defines what a 'Maquette' is. What is this likely to be made of?
Anyone? :monkey2

The look is definitely growing on me more now, i just wish the base was smaller and the Alien bigger. This thing will look small next to my T800 and Robocop PFs.

Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

I think they use the term maquette when there is no fabric involved like there are in PFs. Also, I believe PFs are generally 1/4 scale, but maquettes can vary in scale.

I could be wrong though. :dunno

Ok thanks. Are Maquettes generally polystone then or something else?

Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

I'll probably purchase it. As least its not a simple "I'm standing here" pose.

What kind of pose would you think is more interesting?

For example, would you rather see an alien statue in a similar pose to one of these pictures?

....Keep in mind ...not exact like the pictures, obviously.

I think the problem most are having with the pose is that between the base and the pose, it's like a scaled up version of the 12" tall diorama, and most folks interested in this maquette have that piece and hoped this would be something different.

I'm fine with it, if I were to have any idea for a pose, I may have gone something like the Alien within a wall, sort of like when they first come out of hiding, that, or maybe more crouched on the same base it is now, more like it's keeping an eye out for prey instead of being in the midst of going in for the kill, just for variety from the diorama, but I still love this and really like how it all looks.

Re: Alien Warrior Sneak

$800 is pushing it but not terrible. I hope my dealer will have it for less.

Yep, I agree with the other comments about it looking familiar / like the smaller scale diorama.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. That sounds cool, too.

Here is a picture of my hive where one of the aliens seems to be in a contemplative crouching pose.
