Maybe one of the Mods can answer this but whats the reasoning that the Chris Howes threads are still open At this point they are not really adding anything to this forum.

As of tonight, as this reply is being posted. Mr. Howes Ebay listings have "Hugh Laurie", "House M.D." and "Dr. Gregory House" listed in his auctions. Most people who do likeness sculpts use another name and make no reference to the show, actor or character.

If reported and the listings are removed, even if Mr. Howes comes back, he will be forced to list the House MD sculpts under generic names and monikers, which will make it more difficult to find via Ebay general search, which will reduce his listing page views/traffic, which will likely reduce his bids and number of sales.

If enough people report the auctions, and keep reporting them, one of two thing will happen.

A) Howes will stop listing on Ebay

or

B) Howes will have to adjust his listings that will reduce his marketability and potential sale of said items

If ebay enforces that rule on Chris, they will likely enforce the same on hundreds of other customs. That may be a "bad thing" for both the artists selling on ebay and the hobbyist who is looking for a legit custom.

Just my opinion.

I think Paypal transaction numbers should prove that payments were made.

Has Mr. Howes given anyone reason to believe he is organized?

To be fair, I believe he was quite organized in keeping track of people buying his early works (Joker, Bale, RDJ). He even acknowledged on the boards if/when he fails to add a person to the list or forgets to make similar updates. I guess it got harder for him to keep track when people started piling up new commissions for him.

Again, I would strongly suggest that known and reputable commission/custom artists here to consider taking a more proactive role in these situations.

I appreciate your posts, aggregation of data, etc, it is definitely a big help, and most of your advice, but I don't think Chris will listen to other customizers. He really seemed to discount/look down upon the talents of others. At this point, the only thing I think has a chance of working is continued law enforcement contacts.

Why? Because if a guy comes to this forum, professing himself to be the best there is, that you won't be able to get a sculpt better than what he'll deliver, then it damn well better be that way.
howes work is not what he said it would be it is far from it. I am lucky that I am not out any money. I was waiting on several of his sculpts to be complete prior to committing (Gormans, GB, Trek, Milla, X-files) and in hindsight that may have worked to my advantage.
Nonetheless, it does not change my opinion or negate my right to have one.

Ok-ok, you don't like the House head. It just seems strange that you are being so vocal about it now. Where was your concern when the head was in the sculpting stage and input was being asked for? I couldn't find one post in the House thread from you prior to mid June, far after its completion.

Is it the best there is...? I personally prefer the Serang sculpt but that that is only my opinion. I still think Chris's sculpt is a pretty decent likeness.

Chris not delivering the goods should be fuel enough for complaints. Constructive criticism is one thing but ridiculing the work doesn't add anything positive to the boards. If I was a sculptor I might have to think long and hard about joining up after seeing some of the work bashing that has been going on here lately.

No, I wasn't involved in the WIP, but then again, I wasn't there when the manufacturer made my car. They are professionals and I sure hope that they got it right. Then again, I was around when he posted a few random WIP's of Kirk. Haven't seen that one get finished.

Why because someone said it as their opinion? What makes that opinion better than mine, yours or anyone elses? An opinion proves NOTHING!
And, all the "work bashing" going on of late is pretty much a direct result of howes poor business skills, lack of production, ignoring of his customers and overall idiocy.
