Anyone know where to get a cheap in home squat stand or rack online or stores?

Squats being the king of exercises and all,(flood release of testosterone) i really need to start going heavier. I do 135 for 10 reps 5 sets for now. All i can do without risk to injury. It still gets my legs pretty good, but those in the know know it needs to go higher eventually. I seen some squat stands online that look like they would do the trick for like 150ish. Just wondering if anyone has one.

I don't even like candy and I am allergic to chocolate... :lol

That's why I was always in charge of the candy sales in elementary school, they knew I wouldn't eat it. :lol

Sorry to hear about that. Easter must suck for you.

I wish I did.... that would be nice to have around the house.

Speaking of Squats, my 666 leg day really tore me up... I am a ball of pain today. :lol

I'm looking forward to next week though! :whip

I'm really starting to feel a consistent "growing" feeling in my last and my pecs, it's like I was working them out before, and even though I pushed as hard as I could, it was like they were just firming up to do more, but now I really sense a growth and change in these areas.

That's awesome man! Glad to hear it's working. Sometimes it just jumps on you, and you realize you lost a lot or built up a lot in a certain area.

It's a great feeling... Especially when you are used to things getting worse over time and NOT better. :lol

I'd describe it as feeling like my body can actual be of use, or rather my shoulders/chest/back region.

I'm still lifting light weight in these areas, but I have a feeling like I could actually be a powerful force with these muscles. I better watch out though, when I really build them up I might go looking to start a fight :lol

"Who's a fat boy, who's a fat boy, that's right ^^^^^ not me!" :lol

I am getting ripped boys and girls! My stength and cardio is back to where it was before I started school! Thank goodness for 4 month Summers! ELI26 IS BACK BABY!

Congrats Eli.

I am finally biting the bullet and joining a gym so my routine will be much more expanded and brutal. I am looking forward to it really.

It's funny how much your perspective on things can change as you progress.

A few months ago, folks had commented about how I could be at where I'd like to be after about a year's worth of work, and my reaction then was that sucks, I don't want it to take a whole year.

Now, I'm upbeat about losing 40lbs in 6 months, I'm excited that I should hit my 60lb goal by the end of summer, and knowing that by the end of the year I will have utterly resculpted my body is an amazing feeling, and that'll basically be a year's time.

It's no good to get wrapped up in time frames when you're starting, I think it can beat you down and make you feel like you're not going to get things done, but if you just let your mind focus on doing it and shot term progress week to week, at some point you'll look back, realize it's been that long period you weren't too happy about facing when you started and feel good about what you've done.

Another chest day where i did 13 sets total (bench and flys) and still don't feel like i worked my chest.

/sigh.

I have my woman check my form each time. I hope it just "FEELS" like i didn't work it, and that i actually am. I may try an all fly chest day sometime and see what that does to change things up.

I wouldn't worry Krayt, I do 90 reps worth of chest work everytime I work out and I rarely feel it once I'm not doing the excercise itself, not like my arms which I can feel as tender the day after, but I can feel the growth in my pecs so I know the job's getting done. even though there's still fat over them, I can feel them growing, almost getting to the point where they protrude right at the sternum, not yet though, still feel mostly bone there, but getting close, closer than I've ever been that's for sure.

I can see the small gap between the pecs and the delts at my collar bone though, nice to see a shadow there, some form coming in. I still have a good ammount of fat to burn, but it's a nice feeling knowing once it's gone that a nice shape is coming in beneath it.

I'm glad whenever ppl realize that it's not a race, this is your body and the amount of weight was not put on over nite, it's been a lifetime or at least a number of years. So in gist you're not going to be able to loose all that weight miraculously and if you do too quickly it's NOT going to give you the desired results.

Great job Sean and keep pumping the iron.

Today as for me I went and did legs, warmed up with some bike for 5 minutes, leg extensions 5 sets, leg press 5 sets, hack squats 5 sets and squats til I died. After leg training was over I immediately went for some HITT cardio and about died once again, that is no joke and I prefer to do that on a nonlifting day, it just drains the soul out of yah. After cardio was over and my face pouring blood, sweat and tears I went for abs with the pulley rope and some light crunches to tap it further. Awesome workout for a Sunday whenever I could of just taken it easy, glad I didn't :rock

I'm excited, finally got to use my pool to get in a bit of a workout. I've been wanting to do this because I get so overheated and sweaty working out with the weights and treadmill and the nice thing with the pool is you're cooled off while you go, just get tired from the work which is fine, but it's been unusually cool for being the first week of July already around here, the pool still isn't as warm as normal this time of year, but good to finally get in, I'll be adding swimming excercise to the mix on my off days from the weight training, it'll be good to keep them going but it'd be too much in one day to lift and do that, I know my body and that'd be pushing past my limits, it takes all I've got to do the weights I do and I'd rather keep at what I do and do right than do wrong to my body by trying to be too much of a "hero" with things.

Excellent job guys. I am looking forward to the variety that the new gym will provide me and I signed up today and will be starting tomorrow.

Today was no day off after playing 5 hours of hockey. It was exhausting but very fun. I calculated about 5000 calories burned today.

Adam- I'm so proud of you! Really!

Most important thing for my health and pretty much for everyone's health is limiting or cutting out the amount of red meat you consume. You will feel a difference. I preach more about diet because so often do people just think that working out will take them where they want to go. You can work out all you want but if you don't adjust your diet appropriately you aren't getting anywhere.
Rory, just for clarity's sake, a vegetarian diet is not what's best for most people. Most people are actually protein deficient, from only eating crappy over-processed meats.

Getting rid of the junk food and eating real, whole natural food is what's making you feel better. Your body is able to cleanse out some of the toxins from the processed junk and is finally getting the nutrition it has long craved and deserved.

If everyone ate this way- the way you do - but added good quality beef and chicken, NOT fast food, NOT cold cuts, NOT frozen or packaged foods, etc but good quality respectfully cooked protein, *that* is when optimum health can be achieved.

Never in the history of mankind has there been an indiginous race or culture of people *ever* who were vegetarian without it being a religious practice. It is a man-made decision not a natural one.

And, personally, I think it's quite arrogant to believe we can improve upon Mother Nature or God or whatever word you wanna insert in there.

If we were not meant to consume meats, our stomachs would not secret hydrochloric acid (for meat digestion) nor would we even have gallbladders which are only needed to consume animal fats. I could go on, but won't- it's boring.

For the record, when I switched my diet over to a high fat, high cholesterol diet not only did I lose weight but have never been stronger nor healthier nor more fit, nor had more energy. I no longer have dry skin and no one guesses my age.

And I continue to improve every year.

But I rarely eat junk food- mostly vegetables, meats and dairy, very little grain and at least 1/3 of my diet is raw.

If you really do the research into what peoples of the planet are the healthiest and longest living, you will rarely find a vegetarian. Sure there may be one or two, but not when comparing races or cultures.
