Thanks - part of me can't believe it - I'll be in a bit of shock for awhile until I get used to it. This is my first tattoo that's really out there in the open.... it's a trip. Right now it stings a little...still haven't taken the bandage off yet.

AWESOME Jen!!! Looks great! :rock It is big and I know how you are feeling. I sometimes can't get used to the fact that something is on my skin permanently and I start to freak out a bit... but this only happens like maybe 1%-2% of the time. The rest of the time I can't stop thinking how beautiful the art is and how much I love it.

If it bothered me that much i wouldn't have another appointment coming up for an even bigger piece. :lol

No pics. Just bruises. Haha! I am guessing you are getting done now! I can't wait to see the pictures! :rock

Rory just a few days left and then it's your turn my friend!

I know... I am getting more and more nervous as the date approaches. I know I will be ^^^^ting hesitation bricks that day and thinking about whether or not I should go through with it... but I will. :lol

Thanks Keith...hey how did you sleep that first night....did any clothes or sheets stick to your tattoo?

I have read that it's good to sleep with some clothes on so that you don't stick to your sheets and damage the tattoo. When you wake up if your clothing is stuck to you then just hop in the warm shower and take them off when they are wet. A little bit of color rub off is normal for the first couple of days. :)

Man, feels crazy to have a tattoo the next day. It's like bam, it's there and it isn't going anywhere. That's why I haven't gotten any on my arms yet. I have had the ideas for a while but the commitment factor is very large. Since most of mine are on the trunk of my body all I have to do is where a shirt and forget. After I get the one on my ribs done I am going to hold off for a couple months or so and make sure that this is the direction I want to continue going. After that though, my plans continue forward as I have so many ideas for great tattoos. :lol

Hey Jen, would you ever get a sleeve? I could see your new tattoo being a part of something even larger over time. :D

Let us know how the healing goes. The ointment, ink fix, that Keith suggested does work very well.

Yeah my shirt stuck to my tatt. That morning I hoped into the shower with my shirt on and ran it under warm water so I could take it off without pulling on the tatt.

I think this tattoo is it for me. But, you know I said that last time too. :lol My tattoo artist was telling me about ideas she had...and adding more to the background...I was like whoa! I really need to just get used to this first. It's still freaking me out. But I love it - I do think it's so gorgeous - but damn! DAMN! :lol This one may take a little longer to get used to. The shock has not quite worn off yet. I'll just stare at it in the mirror and I am glad I got it....it's just having it right there and big is what is going to take some getting used to...the tattoo itself is perfect. :)

Well I just had one small part stick....just got the shirt wet and it came off....my tattoo parlor does not have tattoo fix...they just have me using Dial soap to clean it and then I'm using a non-scented lotion. My artist said she didn't put anything on her tattoos...just let her body heal on it's own and hers are all very vivid. I'm sticking with the lotion though....because some areas, she went deep with a lot of ink, I will get some scabbing...hopefully not too much though.

Rory - how big is the tattoo that you just got?

My first tattoo, the one I just got, is pretty small. It's about the size of a credit card. It's still a part of my larger plan but small enough to just explore what getting a tattoo was like and if it was for me. My next one will cover the majority of my left ribs. It will be pretty large so I bet I will be freakin out too. :lol

Okay - here it is...it's bigger than I thought it would be. But if it was smaller, I wouldn't be able to have the detail I wanted - which is what I loved about this artist's work But I love it - I'm just still in a bit of shock is all. :lol

my arm is a bit swollen.....

How are you making out Jen?

Good. :D The shock is finally almost gone. :lol :D It stings a bit every now and then...but so far so good. :)

And you??

Almost completely peeled. I have made an honest attempt at not itching. I ran out of ink fixx so I used A&D while I was at Kit's. I decided tonight is the last night for that and am switching to lubriderm. It's funny you posted about the shock factor. A couple times I have been like damn Keith! What the ^^^^! LOL! However, that quickly goes away. Just like any other change. I really can't wait to finish it up. I have been looking at my body in the mirror and thinking about all sorts of other ideas. :lol

I guess I should ask. Why a crow? Does it represent anything important? Feel free to share in PM if you like.

OMG- She's a freakin' disgrace to my gender. A true embarassment.

They must've knocked her out when she had the baby! I know the foot is one of the most painful places to get one, but if I couldn't tolerate it, I sure the hell wouldn't get one!

I guess no brazilian wax for her! :lol

I LOVE birds...had a pet parrot when I was growing up. Up here in the NW our crows are huge...and shiny...they are really pretty smart creatures. I just find them fascinating and beautiful....also when I was in Mexico City I met an Aztec Shaman (I think he was a shaman - some kind of spiritual leader) anyway he told me my totem/spirit animal was a raven.

So it was just fitting for me.....I have a crow display in my house...have a lot of artwork and t-shirts with crows on them...it's just always been something I've been drawn too. For some reason never thought about getting one for a tattoo until I saw that ad. Then it was like all the pieces fell into place and BINGO! :)

My artist gave me a sample of A&D...used it once...now I'm just using Lubriderm as well.

Awesome! I really really dig it. :rock

Thanks! Me too! :D :rock Have you gotten any scabbing yet?

Friday night the scabbing started but it is almost all gone. I really didn't scab up to much. I wonder if it is a color thing in the ink. All of my black and grey tatts scabbed like crazy. :dunno

I have read a few online posts of people saying they never scab due to whatever it is they use. I find that hard to believe that you wouldn't get just a little bit of crust on any tatt. I guess the important part is if you do, not to pick at it. :lol
