I used to get laughed at all the time until about a couple of summers ago when I sold about four things and pulled $1500 before a big trip. Now my friends and family ask me about edition sizes and collectability and I've even converted a couple of my friends into getting some pieces for themselves.

They really don't sound like nice 'friends' if they call you a loser for doing something you love.

Have had strange responses and unbelievable gasps when I reveal how much I spend on this stuff, but who cares. It's what makes me 'me'.

Nah, they would not be a very good friend imo if they laughed or called you a 'loser' for doing something you enjoy.
My friends ultimately want me to be happy, collecting makes me happy, its one of my many quirks.

....besides one of my friends has a huge collection of shoes, I don't laugh at her.

my brother called me an ass last night for spending £300 on a PF and asked if it was made of gold. i can see why he thinks its stupid, he has 2 kids and hes living on the bread line and moneys tight for him. im used to it though and get it alot from friends and family- water off a ducks back . most people do like what i got just not the price i got it for, but meh, my money my rules

No body laughs. Largely because I am unstable and lash out violently. My friends are understanding and know I take my collection seriously. What gets said behind my back is another story I am sure.

Never been laughed at by friends my work mates take the piss when I have larger stuff shipped to work. Doesn't bother me really. Not my fault that they're poor and chose to have kids

The only opinions I give 2 s**ts about come from my wife and my daughter. My wife is as much of a movie and pop culture nut as I am , so she encourages the collecting. My daughter likes it too, but gets annoyed when all the big boxes that get delivered are addressed to me and not her . She just rolls her eyes and gives me the "Oh, daddy..." look.


As for the mewling of the rest of the conformist sheep, who gives a damn?

My friends are collectors and my family supports my hobby, they rather I buy collectibles than throw my money away on drugs or something stupid. Most people that see my collection are curious about it and ask where I get my stuff, but if someone ever laughs or says something stupid I'm throwing their stupid asses outta my house.
