I've been Spook "chatting" so sorry for the delay. The handle does not look like plastic -- it has a wooden look to it. (Keep in mind that I've never handled a gun with a wooden handle so I don't know any better.) I like the weathering and the rotating cylinder where you can see the bullets in the chamber. I also like that there are two sets of bullets, one to put in the chamber and the other to display. The EX is a must, IMO.

The sucker is heavy and with the two-piece base, you'll need to make sure your display cabinet can handle the weight (mine couldn't so I had to move things around). I like the sculpting on the base, it's very nicely done, but it does have a plastic look to it. I couldn't imagine them making the base all polystone -- the entire piece is heavy enough as it is.

I always regretted not buying the original polystone Samaritan but this one takes the cake. I no longer have regrets. I love the way it looks displayed in it's base. It's a great piece and well worth the $.

Hope you all feel the same way when you receive yours.

Cool. Do you think it looks better with the gun facing left or right?

Re: Finally have one!!!!

I vote for facing right/down. Looks more natural and "ready for action" that way to me.

All of Sideshow's gallery pics and video show it oriented that way too, so I'm pretty sure that's what was intended.

Agreed, imo it looks much better that way.

That's the boat I'm in. I missed out the first time and have wanted one since I first saw it. Now that we're getting down to 11th hour I'm just glad I could scrape together the cash to get it.

About the same here. I am a huge Hellboy fan and missed out on the first Samaritan, I sure as heck wasn't going to miss this one.

I wasn't really in hyper collector mode when that first came out, and $300 for one thing would have never happened back then :lol

But I have been coveting that piece for a couple years now, so very happy to see Sideshow re-released it and actually improved (materials and extra bullets) upon the original.

It's funny how your point of view can change, isn't it? I'm not sure it's a good thing, but I often don't blink at spending hundreds of dollars anymore. Unfortunately I had to scale things back and this piece didn't make the cut. I have a feeling the regular at least will be available for a while, so I may get one if I can find a good deal later on.

Let's see if the orders increase when the dvd and br hit next Tues.:D
