Yeah, your Max really stands out now with all that weathering and fixes.

Is the Stark body larger than the body supplied?
Thanks mate đź‘Ť arms are around the same size, they have smaller delts tho, the torso is wider and so is the waist and I think the butt and thigh area is abit thicker

Thanks mate đź‘Ť I dry brushed everything lightly with this, made sure I hit the edges abit extraView attachment 649315 then for the parts that I wanted to look sort of dirty/dusty I dry brushed this on the ends of the boots, knees, zippers etc View attachment 649317took maybe an hour and a half, that includes doing everything so not that long really
Awesome, might have to head to Mr Toys and pick up some of that Tamiya paint and give it a go. Cheers mate.

Great work, K.bowen! I just replied on FB and then saw the photos here. Really making me think twice about getting my own. I was wondering if you're interested in sending me one of the sculpts to paint up as an experiment to see how they come up? I'm in Australia too and have a lot of painting experience. Just did the Deckard and Eastwood portraits of late.

Looks like i won't be getting my Max, the Royal Mail has lost my parcel, even though the tracking shows it as being delivered. They are supposed to take a picture when the delivery was made, but they didn't do that this time.

After all the grief i had with my 66 Batmobile, I'm so pi55ed off.

Considering it's source, I think that's a fair bet. The original Cult King figure, despite it's flaws was a pretty solid offering.

I managed to get one -- THANK YOU @Kit Chen -- so I'm eager to have a look myself.

First thing to do is slim that baggy sleeve. It's so unsightly. General futzing and weathering/distressing goes a long, long way to making this look great.

Matching skin tone, perhaps a new body -- still can't tell how short this figure truly is -- and staining that leg brace to look more like metal, and I think it should be an outstanding Max.

Also hoping whoever did the KO Deckard will have a go at this Gibson head -- better skin tone and maybe slightly smaller would be great.

It definitely has the best looking head sculpt so far. The outfit and accessories are all comparable so this should be the one to get, so far.

Looking forward to seeing the regular and injured sculpts in hand. I've got a replacement body ready to go for the Premier version.

It is great after all these years to have THREE variants to choose from and mix-and-match parts to bash a really solid Gibson.

We really need a list of the best parts from which Max figure to build the best Max.

Looks great...just get some red pastel and you can give it more life. IMO it's easy to do and if make a mistake brush it off.

It will soften the yellow and add some blood vessels under the skin.

Put mine on a Tony stark body, weathered everything and used some Gundam real touch markers to tint the fingers a nicer color, just gotta get the head repainted now đź‘Ťimo this is the best max of the 3
Love the weathering. Well done.

We need an expert to tell us uf its real leather. Maybe contact Darktoys in facebook or Kit Chen?

Not too many people got this one, huh? Most seem to have settled on Premier.
Been collecting a few years now, still rather new. What I have noticed is word of mouth spreads. Once people hear this is a good figure, it will sell out.

Mine just arrived, I think it's a really great Max figure, the main con being the complete contrast between the headsculpt colour and the body. The costume looks great, however as proved by K.Bowen, the weathering will really take it to the next level. If you're a Mad Max fan, don't wait on picking this one up as i think it's going to be a wanted piece now that people are getting it in hand and seeing how good it is. I also have the Premier Toys version, and I think the Dark Toys one is superior in pretty much every way.

A few little updates on max, I added a black wash to the fingers and removed some of the desert yellow from the stomach and I ended up glueing the shotty in the hand

and a pic in normal lighting for the sake of it

and lastly I added the plate that goes across the boot that's part of the leg brace, I had bought the premier toys leg brace thinking it'd be the best one but I didn't end up using it so I just popped that brace off the boot and took the plate off and cleaned it up, then glued it to the dark toys boot, it just fits there's a tiny gap

guys did I weather the brace too much do ya think ?

Weathering looks fantastic. The photos with flash appear to show some heavy weathering but not only does it look good, it looks accurate. Well done.

By the way, I have the Premier Toys figure and was wondering if it was worth purchasing this Dark Toys version or not. What are your recommendations as far as perhaps a mish-mash of the two? What do you consider the better parts of each? Thanks.

Thank you! Personally I prefer everything on the dark toys figure, the accurate relaxed hands that come with the premier are quite good tho plus they aren't a corpse colour like the dark toys ones
