Hasn't done a Hot Toy review in a week but been around for livestreams? Wonder if he's having trouble with his sketchy supplier.
Maybe he's finally suffering like others have when TW says something is "in-stock" but yet you still don't have a shipping notice or tracking info

Oh wow...so they didn't even give us a functional/wearable balaclava like the quarter scale :(...Welp there goes the night out look, for me at least

That review was pretty eye opening for me. I think the figure looks just fine. Areas that could have/should have been improved to be sure, but it’s hardly the train wreck early glimpses made us wary of.

I wanted this because it will be my one and only Bale Batman and I needed him to go with my loose Michael Cain Alfred, and I have to say I’m well pleased. Happy I didn’t panic and hit the cancel button!

Actually makes it look fine, of course could have used a slightly updated cowl to go with the new better articulated body and suit sculpt, and as usual a better cape, though figure looks on par with the rest of their output. Looks lean and flexible, and that fantastic bat-necked cowl silhouette will always be more menacing and intense, then the later TDK/TDKR thin-necked pussycat version.
Out of the box glossiness which (when not under a single spotlight) looks like it can be tamed, is likely due to a more saturated rubber quality, for (unbroken mold) flexibility and to avoid long term brittleness and crumbling.

But early glimpses merely confirmed that the figure was basically a rerelease of a 14 year old figure. New youtube reviews and more in depth looks at the figure don't change that. So if at any point someone thought it was a trainwreck on the basis of it being that same old figure with the long neck - it is still a trainwreck.

That said, if someone simply never thought it looked that bad in the first place then sure, no reason not to be happy with this figure.

Then alright.

If you want a Bale Batman so bad, why don’t you get the DX19? This goes for anyone that “just has to have a Bale/Nolan Batman in the collection”.

1. It’s a better figure
2. It can be had for less and has more value
3. Sideshow has a sale right now BOGO 50%. People have the chance to get Batman and the Batpod

I really don’t get people’s obsession with this figure nor the desire to purchase it. Gotta be an OCD thing.

I mean.. people have the right choose what they like...

Simply put because some really don't care for TDK suit and much prefer his look from Begins.

The DX19 is a good figure but useless for those that hate the suit.

They sure do.

And I gotta ask, where were these people in 2008 and 2011? You know, back when they included grapple guns and wearable balaclavas?

If it’s a Begins suit thing, like the obsession Dean Knight has, where were people even more recently in 2014 and 2020 with the Enterbay 1/4 and Hot Toys 1/4?

Collectors are weird. And we know how the game works at this point. The people ordering it and hyping this thing up will sell it in the next couple of months and an already antiquated, 14 year old figure will become that much older.

For me personally, I had no money then. When they re-released this I was over the moon, even if I thought I might need to do some work on it.

I have no space for 1/4 scale

No I won't 🤷🏻‍♂️

People are allowed to like different things or want different things. And frankly we don't have to justify why we're buying them.

And that’s the problem. People are fine with accepting mediocrity so Hot Toys gets away with releases like this.

I don’t see how any one could look at this thing and think “oooh yeah, the Batman figure of my dreams right there”. People are on here are like “it needs some work, but I still like it”. Needs some work? An all new head to get rid of the giraffe neck and cartoony caricature faces? An all new cape? Source other figures for better weapons/accessories? At $250+ for a figure that’s been done multiple times already? So other than this simply being an opportunity to get a Bale/Begins Batman, what is good about this thing?

I just don’t get it. When Hot Toys releases a 5th 1/6 Begins Batman and it looks like this one again, I’ll be sure to point at all the people that happily bought this one as the reason nothing has changed. That’s why they’ll never improve it.

It's unfornately the problem when you have Hot Toys being the only real player in the figure world. Which hopefully will change a bit going forward.

It ends up with people accepting and buying mediocrity because there are no other options. This isn't even anything new, as you well know. People have been buying Hot Toys less than great attempts at certain characters because there is nothing else to fill that gap. You want a 1/6 Batman Begins figure because you really love the suit? Either buy this 14 year old figure reissued or don't have it at all in your collection. A lot of people will simply go for the former and suck up the negative aspects of it.

I also think it's a very pointless game with Hot Toys. Does anyone actually believe that not buying this figure will send a message to Hot Toys that they need to improve and produce a better Batman Begins figure? Hot Toys offers zero communication with their consumers. All they see from a figure not selling is = no one cares about this line anymore. They're an incredibly dense and ignorant company to a lot of things. Extremely frustrating with how they operate.
