It can cost about $5,000 - $10,000 to build your own, and that's if you're able to learn to do everything required to make one fully functional.

So while it is overpriced, but it's not super ridiculous either as it looks pretty solid for what it is. And it's really marketed towards people who won't miss that money anyway.
