darthkostis when mechanic lady mentioned Fathiers…

View attachment 559273
:lol

Just last night I noticed a cool connection between TLJ and AOTC of all movies.

When Anakin and Padme are on Naboo and he has the nightmare about his mother the next morning he tells Padme that he saw his mother and that "she was suffering Padme, I saw her as clearly as I see you now." And then two generations later in TLJ right before Rey leaves the island she tells Luke that she had a vision of Kylo Ren turning and that she saw his future and that once again it was as clearly as she saw Luke in front of her.

And then of course we learn that in both cases the Sith manipulated the attachment that Anakin and Rey had to Padme and Ben through those supposedly crystal clear visions for their own ends. Pretty cool IMO, especially with it occurring both times in the middle entry of their respective trilogies.

Ok so what’s up with Mando playing dumb with the mechanic lady?

First he played like he didn’t know how Jawa’s operated he literally said “I don’t understand” and she literally had to explain to him that she gives the Jawas a list of parts she needs and they go and steal them. He even repeats “of parts and they find them for you?”

WHAT!!

He directly dealt with Jawas DOING JUST THAT TO HIS OWN SHIP!

But now he was surprised that they were scavengers AND then he asks if he could meet them as if this was his first encounter ever with Jawas!

Makes no sense…why did they do that?

The other time is when he’s holding the engine panel and he asked the droid where it goes and the droid has to show him with the hologram but it’s clearly evident where it goes it’s right in front of his face the flat panel he’s holding has a particular shape that fits the space right in front of him made him look dumb unless he’s in the game of making droids feel good about themselves because of IG11 sacrifice that’s the only thing I can come up with.

Then she says “start her up” and he answers with “REALLY?”

No dumbass we built the ship for it not to be used.

That’s not all!

THEN he starts flying it and complains that the ship handles “a little bumpy” and she explains to him that it’s not the comfortable razor crest!

So he needed somebody else to tell him that a vehicle that is clearly not a huge razor crest but a small hyper super car handles more bumpy than a larger softer vehicle.

Seriously guys WTF it’s all rather baffling for me i’m not twisting any of this go rewatch those scenes.

I thought Boba was supposed to be the idiot lol

Like the Tuskens before them Jawas are no longer career criminals but are just misunderstood eligible bachelors, lol.

In seriousness I think he was just surprised that Jawas would ever work together with people like that.

"No dumbass we built the ship for it not to be used" holy crap. :lol

It must be contagious.

Or there's a lack of oxygen like in Spaceballs, so it makes people act stupidly.

The Jawa one is the most baffling and bugs me the most really weird for them to go there.
It's just bad writing or they want to explain things to the audience, so they have the characters ask questions, even though the characters should know the answer. They used to do that A LOT in Star Trek the next generation. Commander Riker, who was second in command of the Enterprise, would ask stupid questions and a tech or other characters would explain stuff to him, even though he shouldn't had been asking those questions to begin with, because it was either common sense or common knowledge for someone of his ranking and experience, but the writers used Riker as a tool to explain things to us, the audience.

Yeah, I think some of these writing choices that seem to be at the expense of the characters' intelligence are for the benefit of the kiddos watching as well casual fans that might be watching Star Wars for the very first time. Comics have long done that where Spider-Man or someone describe his own powers to himself for 200th time while thinking out loud on how to overcome some challenge because the writers have to allow that someone reading that issue has no context for Spidey's history and is just jumping in at issue #297.

One of the downsides of telling stories over so many years or decades, they can no longer assume that people always are up to speed on Mando's skillset, what Jawas do, and so on.

I thought Mando was simply surprised that Jawas "took requests" and that Peli Motto had an on-going business relationship with them. He knew they were scavengers, but as he's not from Tattoine I could see him being taken aback upon discovering that the Jawas' scavenging/thievery was a practice acknowledged and accepted by "legitimate" businesses on an on-going basis.

Regarding the fighter they built, it was much more aerodynamic than his Razor Crest so (engine vibrations and a lack of comfy seats aside) I could see him expecting it to be "less bumpy" in the atmosphere.

As for that engine panel, I'm with you on that one, although it could be explained by the right and left engines having panels that were mirror images of each other - i.e., he just needed to know if it was a LH or RH engine panel.

Still not as bad as Fett knowing that Fennec has a mini probe droid that they used to spy on Jabba’s palace but then he decides instead to to fly Slave 1 right into the mouth of the Sarlaac just to get a peek :slap

How about using the probe droid!

Now about the Armorer’s identity which is limited due to her Maul horns.

Will they stick to the CW series or go in a whole new direction with her?

I mean there are THREE LEFT IN EXISTENCE yet she throws one out for breaking a rule and lets both fight each other. :dunno

I think they wanted to show some kind of evolution and growth, which started in the Mando show, but they dropped the ball in the BoBF. TM thought Boba was talking too much, so even he picked up on something that didn't feel right. Then, there's the lack of good action, which could be a budget issue, and the worst part, the bad writing. The writing is perplexing, because they are having Boba Fett do things that lack common sense, thus making him look like an idiot in the process. However, they wrote Mando perfectly in episode 5, so I don't understand it either. I don' believe they're doing it on purpose, because why bring down a cool character to elevate another one, when you can easily have two equally great characters. Fennec has been handled well so far, and she's in the same show. I think it comes down to the producers wanting to try something different with the character, since Mando is already the Clint Eastwood Man with No Name, so they didn't want to have another version of that guy, but why make Boba stupid, I think it's accidental, not on purpose.
This^ It's the same writer so (ridiculous conspiracy theories aside) what is the major difference?.
Mando also had plenty of non event eps. scenes where he was clowned, over shadowed by sidekicks, acted and made stupid decisions. (even the latest, if we saw Fett surrender all his weapons at the airport, we'd still be mocking him for it).
Same writer,
Difference is Mando's scenes are tempered cause most of the rest of his show (and his main presence) is still a blank slate helmeted badass.
The biggest difference here is the Fett badass we love and get glimpses of, is sharing allot of screen time with Temuera Morrison. Allot, mate.
Some are loathe to recognize that and will ignore it, to instead come up with ridiculous conspiracies about intentionally sabotaging the character.
I stated my misgivings about TM from day 1 - he'd never been the lead for any major production before, so to expect him to carry his own show was asking A LOT. And having him walk around without his helmet 95% of the time only made matters worse. The helmet would have covered up his obnoxiously white teeth and moronic expressions as well as maintained some level of mystery/menace that was completely lost in every one of his interactions with other characters. Granted, he couldn't have his helmet during his time with the Tuskens, but digging for water coconut scenes aside that part wasn't nearly as bad as his present day misadventures.

He was never going to pass up the opportunity to play Fett though. It's down to the casting department, or the suits that control them.

Keeping his helmet on would be a massive improvement to the show.

Oh, I’m not blaming TM for accepting the role - the fault clearly lies with the showrunners for first (a) casting him and then (b) not acknowledging his limitations and minimizing their impact.

Nah. Jawas trade. U don't give them a grocery list. That was new.

I didn't have a problem with any of those scenes. IMO no different than Mando having for the first time in SW, a character having some sort of friendly interaction with the Tuskens. That was new.

Mechanic lady lives in Tatooine so at some point started a business/other relationship with the Jawas. Makes sense since she's been stuck in Tatooine all her life but she's in a business where she's gonna need a lot of supplies. Edit: Now that I think of it, she had mentioned way back she didn't dare leave the city; but the Jawas come and go, so she worked something out. I need a figure. :D

C'mon, as savvy as Mando is, this is a ship that by that time apparently few had even seen by then. I still gotta check HT directions sometimes.:D
Anyway, another thing I liked about all of the N1 assembly is seeing Din D'jarin more or less reluctantly accept this new ship and finally enjoy it. Kudos to the director for giving things time to breathe.👏👏👏

Which to be fair I think Rodriguez was trying to do; but directing must be an art form. Can't put my head around that MAYBE in TBOBF maybe it's not just the script; it's pacing and getting the best performance out of your actors.
Then there's BS like why would this Night Wind assassin care if he were eaten vs. getting shot? 😒

IMO there's a lot in TBOBF that really could have been incredible. Failure to execute tho:pfft:

Like episode 5 with Mando, feels like every frame was beautifully shot and thought out; camera angles, details, lighting. There's some nice shots in TBOBF but a lot of it feels pedestrian.
