I want to see comparison of the Prototype and production sample physically next to each other under the same lighting being looked at with the same camera.

I'm pretty sure here guys that even if you took the prototype and put it under artificial bright white lights it would also look washed out the way the production version does. My gripe thus far is the excessive pink around the eyes and especially the cheeks. Again, the pink issue i'm sure looks far less intrusive under natural lighting.

My only other minor gripe is the child seems to have angled his gaze more upward than the prototype. This may be angle of photo or the fact they have him displayed on a tall pedestal, but the prototype seemed to only slightly look up...opinions?

Lighting is everything people. I reserve my final judgement when someone can show a photo in regular lighting. The Hot Toys was a write off for me as i greatly dislike the open mouth as it makes for a less desirable pose. The Sideshow facial expression is much cuter and in line with what i would expect. I also couldn't get past the seams on the ears.....

Those last photos were taken under awful direct light conditions which leads to washed out colours and lack of shadows / contrast, resulting in a plain look.

The pose and head inclination is exactly the same as the prototype, it's impossible to judge that because of the different angles the pics are taken from.

I have really high hopes for this release.

Think they are imitating the Episode 6 scene where Mayfield finds Baby. Child spends a lot of time looking up in that episode. That wouldn't bother me. Didn't PO this as 1) somehow I think the cuteness got lost and 2) wary of production quality.

That's not saying it will suck but would rather wait - on Iron Studios, for one thing. Not sure how much paint variation will matter - up close fine tints can be perfect vs. overpainting.

If those new pics are based on an actual production sample, I'm SO happy...

I can only assume that they are, it would be pretty misleading otherwise. They even showed the box art and bottom of the base. I think it looks great too!

I just got an email confirming the pics are production. It also indicates that shipping will begin soon.
