Looks Burnt to me.
My guess, it?s too close to a non Led lighting.
The very first lighting I bought from ikea, I bought it cause it was bright but wasn?t led,
I put my hands to see if it was Hot and quickly jerked my hand away as it was scorching hot.
Immediately turned it off
And bought dioder led strips the next day.

I bet the figure was probably in a flying pose and was too
Close to the non led lights.

Apologies if this has been asked already in the thread, but has anyone painted the suit piping to make it more of a metallic silver/blue to get closer to screen accuracy? I want to try it out and was wondering what type of paint was used and the technique. I did a little bit of dry brushing with metallic acrylic and it wasn?t showing quite right. Thanks!

Nope, $200 with no box or accessories.

If memory serves me correct, isn?t the only thing you have to paint are the cuffs?

This can definitely be a more subjective as the suit seems to be different colors depending on the scene and lighting. The piping on the figure is black like the cuffs, but it seems in the movie the piping can be a dark metallic blue or change to have a hint of silver or even black.

As someone who's been to WB studios tour and seen the suit on display, I can tell you the pipping and cuffs are a metallic carbon black, not blue or silver. Hot Toys got it pretty close. Some people think it's blue, I guess b/c of the filters used in the movie. BVS and JL suits have the lighter metallic blue piping on top of a darker blue piping.

Yeah I initially thought the piping should have been a lighter color as well, but looking at pics of the suit now it's clearly just the metallic finish and the way it glints in the sun that makes it look that way. So if I were to repaint the suit it would just be in that more reflective metallic color. And that's what HT switched to for the BVS figure as well.

Ok I think I might need to pick up this figure again. I just came across these old pics on FB and had no idea the figure could ever look this good! I always assumed the issue was with the body, but clearly it just needed a darker repaint and neck mod.

Woah! :thud: What a fabulous repaint! It's much closer to the sheen from the film, crazy how basically a repaint could make the world of difference.

It's definitely needs lots of love but it can be done and is totally worth it. I miss my custom MoS figure I did a couple years ago. One of my few regrets. I'm just not willing to spend the money that an MoS figure goes for these days. I almost rather spend a couple more bucks and by the PF to customize. I go back and forth constantly and haven't made a decision yet :lol

Yeah as usual my timing is always the worst with this. It seemed like only a year ago people were dumping these off like like crazy for around $200, and now you can't find them anywhere for less than $350. And the latest Cavill news is probably going to make them even harder to find now.

Yep. Like I’ve said, I feel the best Cavill Supes body is the MoS body. It looks most proportionate to me. Even stock I think the figure is very nice, but when you perform the collar/cape mod by plucking out that weird trapezoid riser piece, install a cape with a nicer drape and give the suit a repaint to make it look more film accurate (I personally like the color of the stock suit regardless of being film accurate), then yeah, this figure I think blows away all Cavill Supes figures, even if you mod those.

I remember snaring this figure off of eBay for $50 in 2014. Auction, no BIN, no reserve. This was back when this figure was going for peanuts and people couldn’t give them away.
