I cry during every package disposal lol

But I have way too much no way I could ever store all of them.

I buy for display not for some magical future investment.

The McFarlane was my first. It's one I'll eventually display again along with the Predator from that set - for the toy historical aspect. Wish I'd kept the packaging for that reason. That's the problem with attic purges - you never know what you'll later wish you kept but if you allow that to stop you throwing stuff away you risk being one of those most extreme of hoarders.

I thought about keeping the whole set, but the Predator looked so crap (IMHO) that I just lost interest. And I had two complete sets... As a matter of fact, I had all of McF's MM aliens and preds. Sold them all. The quality was great, however. I think they only started declining when the AvP line came out, most -if not all- my preds had stuck joints.

A good fifteen or so years ago I still had a lot of the McF alien and predator stuff still on display along with the HT alien and predator stuff. I also had doubles of pretty much all of it still in clamshells and boxes, with the extra set of the original A/P boxset and queen in a closet. The cable guy had to come fix a problem, and got excited when he had to fix the cable box in my display room. Was completely smitten with all the A/P stuff, and particularly liked the Hot Toys Predators. Asked me all about them, and I wrote down the address for SSF if he wanted to get into it. When he left I gave him the extra, boxed queen and A/P boxset.

Nice of you. Imagine if that cable guy outed himself now having been here all this time - ''no way!! That's me''

It does look crap today but back then it was a huge step up from the Kenner figures which were the only previous Predator figures I had. Since my set remains in great condition I'll eventually re-display.

The other McFarlane figures...man they look bad now. Too bad. Even from that Toy-Historical perspective I don't think I can bring myself to display them. Well, actually I still use the Warrior Aliens - those were passable - although their tails fell apart.

and i threw away all my McFarlane aliens and predators last August. still hate that.

Only have the Resurrection Alien from McFarlane. Got rid of al the others. Oh and the Alien queen diorama piece with the colonist and chestburster. It's a damn shame Neca hasn't made something similar.

So, since I'm anxious to get my Ultimate NECA Big Chap, I decided to take a few more pics of my v2.0

I was going for that somewhat androgynous look and the poise with which the alien moved.

From latest Pixel Dan interview with Randy from Neca

-6 Retro Kenner AVP homages were designed more coming, not this year

-more Kenner Alien vs Predator coming

-Alien diorama corridor with strobe light, and alarm sound (talked about crowdfunding, maybe loot launcher)

The diorama sounds cool, hopefully they are able to get it made.

Watching Alien right now. Can't wait for this 40th anniversary line. Kenner tributes are all well and good but the movies are where it's really at. 3 new human characters we've never had before and spacesuit Kane getting a proper likeness, that's damn good. Of course it only increases the desire for more.

Kinda frustrating - I've been wanting more of the Bomber Jacket Ripley/BDUs Vasquez figures for different scenes but held off because BBTS had over 10 cases of the wave for the longest time - I kept checking every couple of weeks - so it didn't seem like there needed to be any hurry and meantime I could bump up the savings. I check BBTS again recently and suddenly they're all gone, wtf. :gah:

Same here. I had to part with all my McF figures except the Queen diorama, which for some reason kept its structural integrity. All the others became either extremely brittle or very soft and sticky. I also liked the 12'' P1 staction figure. Really loved that at the time. Not the same fate had the T3 figures. Those are still beautiful despite their controversial origins.

Yep, I still have the Queen hive wall/colonist set piece on display and I use the MMV box set egg base albeit with the larger NECA eggs transplanted over the tiny McFarlane ones. I also still display the AvP round floor piece and the fossilized sacrificial facehugger victim set-piece.

As for Terminator I still have Movie Maniacs 4 T-800 (with a NECA head) on display aswell as the Terminator 3 figures. I thought their Sarah Connor was a bit too dated now so she and all the variants are in the spare parts box. Pretzel Man T-1000 from MM4 still hasn't been remade by anyone so that's an important figure. I've done a modded version with that exploded torso transplanted onto NECA Ultimate Motorcycle Cop legs.

There's certainly some salvageable stuff from the McFarlane days but a lot isn't.

How did you remove the McF eggs from that base?
