Yeah, I'm in Australia and pre ordered through Popculcha. I'll try to post some pictures when he arrives.

I decided to keep my preorder, I really like the concept and I can repaint etc if need be.

I've got it coming from sideshow though, popcultcha took ages to put it up and they never had Vader.

Interested to see photos though, I switched mine over to a plan.

If I were you I might actually think about cancelling from Sideshow and ordering direct from Popcultcha. Looking at the estimated shipping ($559.99 + $165.65 shipping + $72.56 GST / 0.67) it’ll probably cost just shy of $1,200 AUD. And you can get it from Popcultcha for $900 AUD retail before any discounts you may have applicable. Even after forgoing the NRD it should be worth it, as long as you didn’t burn any reward points on the order. You could save up as much as $300 AUD if you have any available 10% pennies etc.

Oh I thought about that long and hard. I did use up all my reward points though, I'd been saving them for the next IS Star Wars piece and this happened to be it lol.
I've got enough pennies there for 3 10% preorders. Even if I use them, and exhange rate being what it is I'll save about $10 but I do lose the NRD.
I really wish I knew they were going to carry it, this was a day 1 preorder for me. I hope this means they'll carry IS Star Wars from now on.

With the other orders I have coming shortly I'm happy enough to put this on the back burner with payments.

I'm excited to see pictures though.

I hope Iron Studios does a solid Smuggler Han next. As of now my most wanted SW character in 1/4 scale.

Ok so he has arrived. I got 134 of 300. Even though he has sideburns and is not screen accurate i quite like the statue. The base is huge, the water effect is very clear. I'm happy with it, the IS vader is definetly better.

Am I alone in loving the murky base of the proto?

I'll be happy to put Yoda next to IS Vader, XM Maul and I think I better pick up XM Luke.

Congrats on the new piece, I am surprised the edition size is so small. I hope it doesn't put IS off the line.

The proto was indeed significantly better. I was all on board at the beginning but later correctly assumed that the proto base would be downgraded in production based on other statues by IS.

Yup, out of some of the bigger brands around, Iron Studios definitely has on average some of the worst around when it comes to the sculpt and paint on their bases. And I should know as I’ve got about 13x 1/4, 8x 1/6, and 30x 1/10 scale Iron Studio pieces in my collection, and baring the bases on the 1/4 AOU pieces (I don’t have Vader as Popcultcha didn’t sell him) the rest are barely passable, if at all.

Their only saving grace is that their MCU sculpted figures etc are among the best around, at least in their various available licenced scales.

I love IS for their sculpts and generally very good character paint but there's no lie here about the bases.
If prices keep going up that's going to have to chance.

Man this does not do it for me. Glad I went with the LSC Yoda.

As long as I have that I'll never need another Yoda in my collection.

:exactly:

As far as the hair & sideburns.... you can futz with the hair style a little. Comb them lamb chops back, & make the hair a rats nest, & you'll be good.

Yoda gets lost in that base. Needs R2-D2 and/ or Luke to fill out the diorama as Yoda just looks like an afterthought IMO.

That outer ring looks very cheap/ tacky when compared to the detail of the rest of the base.

Some small characters just don't need a 1/4 representation, Legendary scale Yoda all the way!

Look at Cyberman's Yoda, that is the ultimate version of this character

Vader is one of Iron Studios' best pieces, and it also is one of the best Vader collectibles out there in general, not just statues, where it has first place easily already

I agree the proto did look better (especially the murky water effect) but i still like the final product. I hope IS put out some more 1/4 scale in the star wars line, I do like their pieces.
