That does look awesome. If it were maybe half the price, I’d consider it but for that much, I’d rather put the time and effort into scratch building it.

It's basically a dream diorama of the scene because it also has the overlooking gantry where you could have John and Sarah but I'm wary of preordering on ebay and I'm also not sure I want to spend that kind of money - I mean, the size, the materials and labour might justify it, I dunno, but in recent years I've become uncomfortable with single big spends like this.

I really love seeing these things, like the Jazz Star Wars dioramas too, but yeah

A. Really takes a hit on the wallet
B. Takes up a LOT of space
C. And I'm not [emoji817] sold on the idea of displaying the character in that particular scene. It limits the display options in my opinion.

I didnt even like the giant weathervane that came with HT DX07. Felt it was very limiting.

Definitely pricey and space hogs but I can understand the attraction to these types of dioramas. They really set off the figures and capture specific scenes in all their glory.

For example, you can have on display the different iterations of Indiana Jones figures on a Detolf shelf but having the Raiders Indy displayed with the Sideshow Golden idol base or the Map Room Indy on the Sideshow "Map Room" diorama are amazing display options.

As far as space, it's mainly vertical and depth space. Width isn't so bad. And as I was a multiple purchaser of DX13 your point C doesn't apply in my case.

It's point A and not being certain that I won't get ripped off would be my primary concerns
 
Guys, you know anyone who sells spare parts(aside from ebay) of the DX10 or DX13? I would need to get a DX 13 body since I have to display the other head somehow, also got to get the M4 since a few items were separated from the figure I bought. Thanks in advance! :)

Thanks, it's not hard even for a beginner! Simply drybrush the outfit with acrylics, nothing more. Take a dry, hard paintbrush and dab some acrylic paint, brush off the excess paint on a piece of paper so that only a very small, dry amount is left on the brush an then simply brush on the outfit. Wipe immediately if you make a mistake.

I weather all my Terminator figures as accurately to the film as I could and you might notice that the right, more damaged figure is more distressed than the left.
 
If ever there was a figure I'd call a personal grail, it's this. I wasn't in the game at the time and really have no interest paying 3x the cost of a figure for him. As much as I adore the fig all around.

It REALLY surprises me that no one has bootlegged this yet though. Or any of the T2 stuff. I know there's the 1/12 stuff that's a blatant rip, but I don't care about that. Some of HT's best have seen unofficial re-releases that way, so I find it strange these haven't. I wonder if the molds were destroyed or lost at some point.

The irony of what you're saying is that if this was the 90s, HT would exclusively be making figures from the biggest action blockbusters of the 80s and 90s, just as they are doing with Marvel now. I feel like it's a cop out argument to "blame" them for not revisiting these figures again. Do I want them to? You bet. Do I understand why they won't? Absolutely.

They're doing Marvel while it's big.

They had a shot with Star Wars and well, the fan base imploded.

They did Pirates when that was big.

They did the Dark Knight when it was big.

Terminator will never be big again. Sadly.

But the reality is that these films just aren't relevant anymore. No matter HOW much you or I enjoy them or how good they are. I had multiple students in my class (college level) think I was referring to my friend "Arnold" when I was teaching muscle anatomy and using Arnie as an example.

So anyways. Someone bootleg these so my wannabe 80s childhood I experienced in the 90s can continue to be satiated. Or a kind soul parts with a fair priced DX13. :monkey3 It's weird knowing that T2 is my favorite film and I don't have a 1/6 in my collection.

Dude what in the hell are you on about? All you're saying is "just because I don't like it means no one else should."

Sorry to tell you this, but these characters and actors are the Rambos, T-800s, Snake Plisskins, and John Matrixes of the modern day. Folks look up to, are inspired by, and escape through these characters just as you did with all the classic films. And if being inspired to fight for others by Captain America, learning to find your path in life by watching Thor grow, or seeing the importance of selflessness through Tony Stark makes you a sissy, then I'll happily take the title, frame it, and parade it about.

Your disdain to the enjoyment of others and their modern icons doesn't bode well towards people discovering our beloved classic films all over again. In fact, if anything, it's the type of behavior that put them off to it, because all it says is "everything was better when I was your age, I'm better, you're wrong." The western movie generation said the same with 70s - 90s films. They belittled them just as you are doing now. The response you had towards them is going to be same for the modern generation towards you.
