My hope is they reward us for the long wait with cassian and the Death Star trooper, to go along with bespin lando and han.

Honestly I'd be delighted if they showed nothing at SDCC and put out Jango Fett, the Airborne Trooper, Padme, ESB Han, OT C-3PO and the DS Trooper in the next few months before The Mandalorian and Episode IX figures hit the market. Instead they'll show another few crappy Chewies, several obscure troopers that will never see release, and AOTC C-3PO again.

SW has no market in China so HTs didn't bother. I think they don't want the SDCC revealed to be leaked until SDCC.

Anakin flop was their marketing mistake. People felt cheated instead of rewarded.

Of course the very nature of these exclusives is short run and (in most cases) reusable parts. So we shouldn't expect too much. Anakin was just an extreme example.

The anakin exclusive sold out initially and was going for big eBay bucks at first. That was when it was thought to be a limited release. Once it was released to everyone, that was when it’s hype disappeared. They really probably made too many of both anakin figures. The first anakin went to waitlist too, before they made more. Also, everyone is right, it should have been a single figure with 2 sculpts.

I know that's why I didnt get it. I felt cheated as I would have preferred the evil version but I already had the standard and these things are too hard to double dip with this kind of money.

Wel, exclusive or not, even no SW reveals at SDCC this year... pretty much safe to say Im quite satisfied with last year + beginning of this year's offerings, speaking on the perspective of finanncial capability... DX17 Maul is coming, new stormtroopers, Doouku and Yoda, new diecast R2, Cody and QuiGon plus Krennic.

But still desperately want Death Star Trooper, Baze and Jango though.

Even with a slow year for Star Wars technically, it was still expensive here as well. Maul dx17 and the rotj stormtroopers are shipping soon, and bespin leia, dooku, and krennic are ordered. I still have to order dx rotj luke, qui gon, and r2. Still undecided on aotc yoda and Cody. I still have ss Cody and I can’t imagine the ht will be a huge upgrade. Or will it? Of course it will. Am I that insane?

I'll wait for Dooku and Yoda to see production HS, also R2 to see an error fixed (I learnt not to say "This is HT, they will off course correct it). But I'll PO Cody.

Yeah, I definitely was not going to buy 2 figures. Same deal with the new Deluxe Jedi Luke. Screw you HT, I'm not buying the same package twice. I got the Inigo windswept headsculpt for my Luke and now I'm done with him. If I feel the need to display an Endor Luke I'll just get parts, SS or whatever.

Two figures they should have done DX releases on but then split it to screw the consumers. I get that Star Wars isn't as big in China, but obviously not everything is made for them.

I am in the same boat with Cody.
I have all the Sideshow Clones so a Hot Toys one would look wrong.

I am waiting till I see it in person.
If I desperately want it I will buy it and put it elsewhere in my collection.

Hot Toys extreme greed caused them to look at the pre orders and greedily increased production to a redicilous level and retailers are left holding the bag. They need to stop ordering these figures in large quantities just because hot toys make them in huge production numbers

Overestimating demand on a figure that was selling in the aftermarket doesn’t equate to greed. I know some don’t like that the big bad business wants to make money, but that’s the ultimate goal. Why leave money in the pockets of resellers if there’s potential for profit? It doesn’t always pay off but their logic makes sense.

As far as people feeling cheated on the Sith Anakin, while to an extent I get it I think a lot of people saw it coming. When the initial release didn’t have the secondary sculpt it made sense as a re-release or an exclusive.

People has been seeing DS Trooper coming for years also. With HT, you may foresee it but can't be 100% certain.
