Any recommendations on alternative black lights particularly for a detolf?

This shot here makes me want T’chaka now to go with T’chala. The gold on it really pops

Been mostly lurking around this thread but I have to say how amazingly BETTER this one is compared to the CW version. I have my own black lights so I didn’t need to use the foam/cardboard “pillars” and the transformation is incredible! I really wonder if this is going to end up becoming a “chase figure”.

Very questionable statement.

I received my figure today. I really like it.

There were some people on this thread that made comments about the stand being cardboard and didn’t like that it was so cheap, but I find it pretty impressive. It’s very sturdy so the material doesn’t bother me at all.

I feel the same way. I opened mine yesterday and although the base of the light stand is pretty flimsy the foam led light towers are actually pretty well made. It looks great lit up in the display.

Just for reference, the LED light tower is made from the same material as the packaging of the cup of noodles some collectors are forced to resort to as a meal because they can't afford anything else after purchasing a premium brand like Hot Toys...just think about that for a sec! :lol

But go ahead HTs...keep upping your prices while simultaneously lowering your quality. :slap

Love it when people complain about prices, convince themselves to skip figure, then pay double when it’s sold out.

Been lurking here for a while but this comment irks me. I'm not gonna comment about Hot Toys' decision to use styrofoam, but styrofoam used for structure like this isn't really comparable to cup noodles styrofoam. Styrofoam are used in sculpting and housing structures as well, so there are durable construction grade styrofoam. This is a hyperbole, but it's like someone comparing aluminum foil to an inch thick aluminum block.

Had a little bit of fun with the UV light effect. What an amazing figure!

Also inspired by the Portals scene from Endgame

Just got him in yesterday and love this figure. I didn't like how the black light pillars we so close to him with the connected base piece, so cut them so they would stand further away and light him more consistent. Just hid the wires with infinity war caps shields since wasn't using them for the figure.

That’s a good idea cutting the base as to be able to display the pillars further out. I might do the same. Looks good. Will probably be months before I get mine from SSC tho

On the bright side if/when those brittle styrofoam pillars eventually snap, you can take solace in knowing that your cup of noodle package can be re-purposed for a nifty light stand! :clap

Thanks, also had to cut the backdrop about an inch as well so that would fit too. This is one of my wife's most wanted figure ever and when I started to cut things off she was very angry until she saw the end result lol. I wasn't even intending to use the black light pillars initialy, only for a display accessory as I have black light leds lining my detolf. But even at full brightness it wasn't nearly as good as the lights in the pillars because you can adjust the angle u display them at.

Got mine Friday. I've only had a bit of time to pose him but man, he's a ton of fun. Did some panther vs. Hawkeye stuff and posed him with my son's stuffed toy(per his request lol)
