In this sense, the books are gonna be the way to go. Inside the character's mind and all of that...........and ten years from now, book 6 will finally release.

What I don't get, if Dany going "Mad King" was always gonna happen, why did they not plant the seeds years ago? Nothing we have seen from her would indicate she could snap so completely

Have you all seen the interview where George RR Martin and Stephen King interviewed each other, mostly just asking each other questions? Very telling as to why Martin is so damn slow. Pressure to write only masterpieces was my take away. I did love Martin's question to King, 'How the F do you write so fast?'

That sounds like the coolest interview - at the core, both these guys are hellacious writers.

You either weren’t paying attention or have a short memory.

King might be prolific but that doesn’t mean the quality is there.
He’s also alienated readers and fans by injecting too much of his political bias into his work over recent years.

The problem was never forshadowing. Its obvious from years back that Dani was prone to impulsiveness and cruel punishments for what she saw as justice. The problem was natural character progression. She went from questionable but still arguably fair executions of those who betrayed or refused to submit to her to the wanton and brutal slaughter of half a million innocent people in the blink of an eye.

Coming soon to Westeros...

Only 4 more days...…………………………………………….

I guess some fans are circulating petitions for a do over of the season with new writers, good luck with that.

I felt it made sense. She has executed a lot of characters by burning them alive over the last few seasons plus her father is the 'Mad King'.

Yea, there were signs Dany could go dark side. But the audience couldn't help but root for her considering how she was treated in the beginning and how she built herself into a strong and respected Queen across the Narrow Sea.

Plus it was either Jorah or Barristan or Tyrion that helped keep her in check. But after losing Barristan, Jorah, 2 of her children and Messendei ...and always losing to Cersei once she got to Westeros ...and losing Jon as her lover ...and losing her claim to the Iron Throne ...well 5h!t, it's no wonder she went dark side. I would've gone dark side just because I lost 2 badass dragons.

The fact that the audience was rooting for her ...and then she goes "Mad King" ...just makes more of an impact to the audience storytelling wise.

And gotta admit ...was freakin awesome watching Drogon take down Kings Landing! That was DOPE!

HBO offered them 10 episodes and a blank checkbook for his season and this is what we got

Yeap, Weiss and Benioff had other projects going and didn't care about GoT anymore, wanted to wrap it as fast as possible, not matter the quality. Great special effects, but poor story telling and sloppy script. Sad.

:goodpost: Dany's arc was always going to end this way. Power is what she wants and that's really all she wants. Daenerys has come to Westeros as a conqueror, to a land she barely knows. If she really had the interest of the people in her heart. she would back Jon for the Iron Throne, (Jon is a humble and a proven uniter.) That fact that she doesn't tell you who she really is.

Disagree entirely. She was already the most powerful person on the planet which is a fact with 3 dragons and the size of her armies. She subsequently lost a huge army and dragon to save humanity in Westeros from the Night King.

She could have taken Kings Landing immediately upon landing on Westeros with little to no resistance, in fact no real civilian casualties if she rolls up to Kings Landing and destroys the Red Keep in minutes.

Frees Millions of Slaves when she could easily have ruled over them...

I hope the person that posted 100% guarantee spoiler a few days back for the finale is dead wrong in a couple of aspects. I think a few of these theories combined would make a satisfactory ending for me. I definitely want to see the WW's come back right as the episode closes. Could be Bran as the new Night King since he was touched? Maybe there is a spell in place with Bran once the OG Night king dies?

I hope I am wrong too :lol

But I don't think those spoilers are false... unless the person spoiled the whole season episode by episode exactly and wanted to ****** with everyone for the series finale
